It is expensive to swim at $15 but a great center, water temp is comfortable and hours are convenient.

Tons of high school kids and classes all day long. Pool needs chlorine badly and the water temperature is not great for training.

My daughter's seventh birthday went off like a confetti cannon. Parking is hand to hand combat for sure, but once you breach the gates it's pure kid‑powered mayhem in the best way. The floating obstacle course? That thing is a child vacuum. It swallowed an entire swarm of rug rats and kept them blissfully occupied for hours while the adults remembered how to breathe again. Life vests everywhere, no drama, no scavenger hunt. Food came from Pizza Port which instantly bumped morale. And the bar next door will literally hand you a drink you can march right back to the pool with, which feels like a low key cheat code. Our party got its own narrow corralled zone, like a VIP pen for exhausted parents and sugar‑drunk children. We were blissfully separated from the civilians, free to unleash our chaos without judgment. My kid left glowing. I left feeling like I made a positive memory for a bunch of spoiled SanDiego kids who have access to better recreation options than most children of royalty. crushing it!

It's funny how something as simple as a warm smile and a friendly hello from the staff at the front desk can mean so much to someone, but it really did for me. The women who work in Childwatch are amazing and so kind to my kids. The staff upstairs is always patient with me every time I forget which locker I put my stuff in, which is more often than I'd like to admit. I've also never once felt uncomfortable asking someone to teach me how to use a piece of equipment I've never used before. I'm unfortunately a very sweaty woman, so the fact that they keep disinfectant, towels, and paper towels easily accessible throughout the gym has genuinely made me feel less self-conscious about how much I sweat while working out. The only improvement I can think of is that the man working in the café has the personality of a filing cabinet, but honestly, maybe every gym needs one emotionally neutral employee so the rest of us don't get too spoiled by how friendly everyone else is. We're really grateful for this place.

Not only, but I can't count how many awesome evenings I've spent there getting a great workout in the pool, then just vegging out in the hot tub while watching the sunset or admiring view of the canyon... Truly a special place to swim. The layout consists of a main building where you have to register to get in (either using your student ID or buying a membership). The main building is also where you will find a rock wall climbing center (i've never been but I know every once in a while they have days where students climb free) as well as your showers/locker rooms, and a great little gym. When i lived on this campus i used to prefer the Canyone View Gym to RIMAC simply because nobody seemed to use it, and I never had to wait on anyone to do my workout. Literally straddling the pool building are two olympic sized pools and the legendary hot tub. The pools are heated, with lights that turn on when needed, as well as 2 diving boards on the east pool. The crowd that goes here is good at respecting the "slow on the left, fast on the right" lane rule, and when it gets a little crowded people are very respectful when sharing lanes. In fact, if you are super slow like me, its totally fine to just go to the shallow end and work on your swimming for a while - thats what i did for a month or so and improved greatly! Nobody every gave me even the slightest of negative looks. Finally, I cannot stress how importantly awesome the hot tub is. Its large (you could probably fit 15 people in there), clean, HOT, and positioned perfectly so that you can go and relax after any sort of work out. In my experienced opinion, (and that of many others) this is THE best aquatic facility and THE best hot tub in all of La Jolla, possibly all of San Diego. Right now with absolutely no affiliation to UCSD you'd have to pay 120$/3 months, and an alumni pays $100/qtr. Its really not that bad - I strongly recommend this as your next workout choice.

It's a very no-frills spot: small locker room, showers, very minimal seating on the pool deck, and a dedicated 1-3 lanes for lap swim. For $4 for ~2 hours, it's a pretty darn good deal. I will say that the pool isn't in the best condition. You can tell there's been a lot of wear and tear. I also don't love that there are open deep gutters along the permitter, making it difficult to get in/out of the pool. Overall, not a bad pool, but not a great pool. I'm personally looking for a more elevated pool experience

I had stopped by the desk in person to ask someone about this about a month prior. They said that for a group of our size, we should make a reservation. I asked the cost and determined it was too expensive for our troop. I asked if we could just all show up at the same time and pay the admission fee. They said that was fine but that they would appreciate a heads up. So I gave the date and time and told them I'd call again when I had a headcount. I called on 8/11 with a headcount. No one picked up, so I left a message with my name and phone number. I called again on 8/17 and talked to someone. I gave my name and number, a brief run-down of our situation, the date and time we intended to come and a headcount of around 25. The woman was very kind and told me they would have no trouble accommodating our group. I asked if it would be possible for our girls to use the diving board and she said they should have enough lifeguards to supervise that. I arrived 15 minutes early on Saturday 8/19 to find out there was a swim meet going on! They weren't even open to the public at the time I asked about! I called the front desk from my car (because I couldn't find a parking spot) and the person said, "Yeah, so we can't accommodate your group today because we have a swim meet." I was livid! Here I was with 2 little girls in my backseat and 20 other people arriving in 10 minutes, and we had nowhere to swim. The person I talked to kept giving excuses and passing the blame to other people. "We didn't have your number." (Yes you did. I left a message.) "Oh, well, we never got that message." I eventually talked to a manager. I explained the situation. He said that I should have asked to talk to a manager. (I DID talk to a manger when I stopped by the front desk in person.) "Oh, that was probably the other manager. He didn't tell me about it. For a group your size, you really need to make a reservation." (I already explained that our troop couldn't afford the reservation fee. And you could have told us previously that you wouldn't be able to accommodate us without a reservation, rather than misleading us to believe that our troop could go swimming today.) I asked if our group could swim after the swim meet. "No, because we only have 1 lifeguard on duty today. So we can't have more than 25 people in the pool at a time. And we're at capacity." I sent a group message to the troop, the beginning of which read, "I am so, so sorry. I don't know how to say this, but Clairemont Community Pool has kind of screwed us over...." And then I explained everything. Nearly everyone in our troop was either arriving at the pool or on their way when I sent this message. Our troop is a pretty amazing group of people and they were all so understanding and patient. I drove around a bit and called other pools and looked for somewhere else we could swim. Our troop did get to swim at the Swanson Memorial Pool for a few hours. I explained the situation to that pool's staff and they were very kind and helpful. Our girls had a great time, so happy ending!
