I had read some good reviews of this place, but cannot say my experience matched them. I went there at lunchtime, which I assumed would be a peak time, but despite this the place was virtually empty (2 other customers). The first thing I noticed was that it was rather over-priced. A small slice of mass-produced, artificial-tasting cake was around £3.50 - really this should have been priced at half that or less. The selection of cakes was small and mediocre, and all were way over-priced. Coffee was ok, and typical of a coffee chain - nothing special. You got waitress service, but she forgot to bring my cake over so I had to go back up and get it - an apology would have been nice, but none was received. I had read somewhere that the location provided an interesting spot to sit and watch the world go by - seriously?!?! The windows look out onto the Kingsway, which is a busy one-way street so all you get to see is a Swansea traffic jam. They are trying to target students, but I think their prices are too high for this even with a student discount card and if today's absence of customers is anything to go by I do not think they are succeeding.
In order to balance things out a bit, I thoungt the interior was nicer than the average chain coffee shop, but not really inclined to go there again. read more
