We decided on good coffee con leche. We also wanted fast WiFi and comfy toilets.
Usually we suss out Mc Donald's when travelling, as WiFi is guaranteed, but clean toilet facilities can be hit/miss.
My photo gives a snapshot of the university city of La Coruña, North Western Spain, nestled on the unforgiving Atlantic Ocean.
The city has a Mc D but we walked by. We walk by as oft as we can nowadays.
Although appearing drab, the city centre is pleasant to stroll around for an hour, with beautiful gardens and very few inclines.
It has lots of restaurants, cafes, and churches too if that's your bag as if you're here then you're an hour or so from the key Catholic pilgrimage site of Santiago de Compostela. I know many folks who did the 'Camino Walk' but it's not for me.
We found this delightful cafe where little English is spoken just off what seems Main Street.
For less than the price of a coffee at home we each got a large coffee con leche, a glass of fresh squeezed orange juice, a small biscuit and a croissant both tasty, oh and a smile from our server.
Delightful place really. The young lady server was charm personified and boy was she busy tending guests sitting in and at outside tables working noticeably hard.
What a contrast as we are sailing with MSC Virtuosa where many of the bar staff would hardly work on batteries. Honestly I've never seen such lazy young people.
Sloth makes me cross especially when it's deliberate as when they go on their breaks they do move promptly.
MSC is poorly managed, but it's more than that, there's no evidence I've seen over five long cruises that proper management even exists. If it does it's aloof and well out of touch with guests.
Next stop Cadiz, a city over 3500 years old. Then, after that, back 2000 years to Casablanca in Morocco - no TARDIS needed. read more
