A few hours later, we are in Stuttgart. Decision: where are we eating breakfast? My friend liked the Baked Apple Frappiato from another Coffee Fellows so when we spotted this familiar coffee chain, we decided to go. It turned out to be a comfortable place. Less busy than the one in Frankfurt and since less people the comfy leather-suede couches were up to the choosing. It was stated the Baked Apple Frap. was good and the sandwich was also good. I thought my latte was up to par. I also had the orange juice, a sandwich that was moderately tasty and a BIO Lemon Fresh sparking soda like drink to go. The BIO Lemon Fresh is like a better version of 7up but more natural and had a more zesty taste to it. The funny thing is not too long after we were sitting there, maybe 15 minutes later. I also decided to get a Baked Apple Frap. but the young lady behind the counter said the machine to make it was down. Hmmmmmmm!!! Anyway, this coffee fellows in the train station has two ways to go up to it. And it's not small. It has pay as you go internet stations with like 3-4 computers, three sections to sit (which one is the smoking lounge which I fount to be a very nice room with a great view of the shopping stores of one street). Bagels! Bagel sandwiches! How can you go wrong?…read more Here's how: 1. Out of several kinds of bagels. 2. Told it would take an hour to make chicken for the crispy chicken sandwich. 3. Snippy guy behind the counter. 4. Salami sandwich takes 30 minutes to make. However, the sandwich was really good and they offer free water, so it's not all bad. The seating area is also nice, it's on a second floor so you aren't in danger of being shat on my a pigeon. I will come back to spend some time up here, it's about the same price as starbucks but has better food.

Bagelstein is not bad, don't get me wrong. The interior is very nice, they try their best to appeal to young customers by being hip and witty. The ingredients seem to be of decent quality and they have an extensive selection of desserts. The choices for bagels however are very limited. I decided on a (mini) Gab bagel, a small sized one (they get props for that, I like that they offer smaller sized bagels if you're not that hungry), whole grain bagel with pastrami, cream cheese, grilled peppers, red onions and bbq sauce. The bagel was too doughy and dry for my taste, and as they're definitely far from being generous with the toppings the dryness really stood out. It tasted decent, but due to the dry bagel and few toppings it was rather unsatisfying. I will come back to try out the sweet bagels, chips (they have some really unusual chips), coleslaw and desserts, and I might adjust my review accordingly.

Loved the crunch of the pepitas and radish with the rich cream cheese, and the lightness of the radish kept things balanced with all the cheese. There are three locations in Mannheim, but the lounge at the Hauptbahnhoff was a welcome site. The decor is modern, subdued and swank. In my mind it is the German version of Starbucks. They always have good space for groups so you can have a meeting or otherwise spread out and work or visit with friends and colleagues. The menu is a whole host of coffee drinks, but I'm a fan of their hot chocolate. Lots of seasonal options and special drinks. They have a few other food items on their menu, but the focus is definitely on bagels. Not just plain, but filled with all sorts of interesting items. Elegant grab-and-go for your train trip.
