I was fresh from the court house with all official paperwork in hand, I had just been sworn in as administrator to the estate having been recognized by Rutherford county and the State of TN as the sole heir as I am an only child and my parents divorced. This, so called bank, had the gall to question as to whether I was the rightful heir to open the estate account, then told me I needed to get any family members related to my father to appear before them in order to open the account. They said my court documents were not sufficient and completely ignored the fact that I had been named and sworn in as administrator. Who do they think they are? I took my business elsewhere and had the account open with the life insurance check deposited within 10 minutes. When I called to complain to the branch manager she intimated that they responded to me in that way because they are not a bank and she then offered some meandering story as to why member owned credit unions do things differently... They will soon have 6 less members to treat badly. I am still in shock at them asking me to gather up distant family members to testify before them that I was the heir. I guess court appointed administration papers are not sufficient for the all mighty credit union.
