From the very first moment we reached out to The Hospice Vet to the heartbreaking final goodbye,…read morethe compassion Dr. Melissa and her team showed us was extraordinary. Because of her gentle guidance and unwavering kindness, we were able to help our sweet Piper transition with a calmness and love that felt almost sacred. When Dr. Melissa arrived at our home, she came with warmth, hugs, and the reassurance our breaking hearts desperately needed -- that we were making the right choice, at the right time, for our girl. She didn't rush a single second. She learned who Piper was, honored her spirit, and gave us all the space we needed to breathe, to cry, to hold on, and to let go. She walked us through every step with such tenderness, answering every question, easing every fear. In one of the most painful moments of our lives, she created a sense of peace we didn't know was possible. Having Dr. Melissa with us that day was a blessing we will never forget. She is, in every sense of the word, an angel. ~Jon & Julie

Dr.Katie and her assistant Gabi are truly in the right field of work…read more We needed help sending our Molly girl over the rainbow bridge today. Dr.Katie arrived on time, very compassionate and so supportive. She talked us through the whole process and even allowed our other dog to join in saying our goodbyes. I have never done this before and it was extremely hard to make the decision to send Molly to heaven for her next life. If you ever do need her services of in home, compassionate pet euthanasia, I would strongly urge you to use her.

Dr. Vukich was THE MAN. He listened to us when we voiced our concerns, he shared his thoughts and suggested course of action, and we had shared decision making. He made sure to update us before surgery, after surgery, at the beginnings/ends of his shifts. We appreciated that SO MUCH. He was wonderful and saved our sweet boy. Jessica, one of the vet techs, was super sweet as well. Very understanding of our concerns and made sure we knew we could call at anytime for updates. The people at the front desk and others we interacted with were at times dismissive of our concerns, but thank goodness Dr. Vukich listened to our concerns and saved our kitty!

Exceptional Care at First Coast Veterinary!!!!…read more I can't say enough good things about First Coast Veterinary on Jacksonville Drive. They have taken such wonderful care of Abby, especially after her major foot surgery. From the moment we walked in, the staff was compassionate, patient, and truly committed to helping her heal. They explained every step of her treatment clearly, kept us informed, and treated Abby like she was their own. Her recovery has been smoother and less stressful because of the attention and expertise they provided. It's rare to find a veterinary team that combines skill with such genuine kindness, but this clinic absolutely does. I'm incredibly grateful for everything they've done for Abby. If you're looking for a place that will go above and beyond for your pet during an emergency or complex surgery, I highly recommend First Coast Veterinary!

Both Dr. Hightman and Dr. Sadderson are not only knowledgeable but also compassionate and I've always felt my pets were in the very best hands with them. I've had lots of medical things come up with my Doberman and she's always been taken care of and all problems have been resolved. From anemia, to injuries, to random issues. I've seen some reviews mentioning rude front staff but that has never been my experience. Every time I've come in, the staff has been kind, helpful and welcoming. I think it's important to remember that kindness goes both ways. if you treat people with respect, you're much more likely to get it in return. Even if someone has a bad day, maybe just be kind regardless and see how that shifts the tone. The ladies at the office are actually my favorite to interact with, so I'm just really surprised why others would say otherwise. Over the years this clinic has consistently gone above and beyond for me and my pets. I'm so grateful to have a vet I can trust and a team that truly cares. I highly recommend them!

Okay; updated review. I've been to this clinic on 3 different occasions now…read more 1st: dogs needed vaccines. I was surprised that they only do paper records and do not offer pro-heart injections for heartworm prevention. They have a weird excuse of saying it doesn't work for dogs in this area or something. None of my other vets have had problems with Pro-heart. The paper records are SO hard to read due to handwriting and layout of the papers. Even yesterday, I couldn't even tell if my dachshund had his rabies shot updated because I couldn't read the handwriting; neither can other vets. 2nd visit: more vaccines. I wasn't seen until 55 minutes after my appointment time. The receptionist decided to spend about 3 minutes trying to argue with me that boxers cannot be black, so she must be mixed breed. I finally had to inform her what reverse brindle is. The place felt so outdated and not clean. My dachshund is one of those dogs that barks until you pet him. The doctor just stood in the doorway holding his ears for 30 seconds until I asked him to just reach down and pet him one time and he will stop barking. He did and barking stopped. I know, my dog should be trained and has been through lots of training, but that behavior still has yet to change. It is what it is. I went back last month because my dachshund had runny nose, itching, a rash, hot spots on his paws. These people took his temperature and it was 103 degrees (fever) and automatically assume it's the new canine virus going on. Absolutely 0 tests were done; no blood work, no skin scraping, no nothing. They gave us lots of Doxycycline and that's all. He finished the Doxy within 2-3 weeks and STILL had issues. He's practically crawling out of his skin. I took him to our old vet that we were going to stop using since we moved 27 minutes away. This vet immediately said "This all sound like allergies; im not sure why they said it's this canine virus." An allergy panel was done and we were given amoxicillin, allergy meds, prednisone, and a cytopoint injection. The allergy test results came back and he's allergic to lamb, beef, fish, peas, and pecan trees. He's been exposed to both pecan trees and peas, so this is likely the reason for his allergic reaction. When my fiancé called to tell them our dog is still itching bad with little improvement and asked why they didn't run any tests, the receptionist had a major attitude problem and said she'd put the doctor on the phone. Then we get a lady that claimed to not be the doctor. She started lying and saying "Oh, did your fiancé tell you he has fleas and he's allergic to them; that's why he's sick." I laughed. They never did an allergy test and checked for fleas. He had none and has been on Bravecto for years. The attitude these people have and their archaic approaches to veterinary medicine is just insanity to me. I can't believe this business is open and I honestly hate everything about them.
