The room that we stayed in was to my (our) surprise, pretty tiny and cramped as it was hard to move around, especially since there were a lot of people. Not too big of a deal, but do take caution. It was well-organized where we stayed, which is all that matters. There are a lot of sporting activities to offer, such as basketball in one room, hockey which includes ice and roller skating as well, and an indoor field that holds baseball, softball, soccer, volleyball, and even frisbee as well with even more names to list. There are many sporting activities to do here, and this is the place to come for get-togethers and/or just to hang out. Overall, a great place to visit. I hate this place for playing roller hockey. Nothing works here including the refs. The most…read moreunprofessional run facility I have ever been to. There was one time during a hockey game that a ref was sitting down eating during a game instead of out on the rink. I yelled over and asked him to ref the game he was paid to do and he proceeded to curse back at me with a lot of foul language. He still works there. Management is constantly contacted and nothing changes. This week a ref offered to get me a chair while I walked past him. He was only able to do that because he was standing in the penalty box on his cell phone while the puck was in play. I replied I want you to ref I don't want a chair. They are paid $25 for 40 mins of socializing, eating, and just skating away from a game in play. During the same game the other ref was hanging on the goal post the entire game talking with the goalie and not paying attention to the whole game. I have never seen a place that is a free for all for the employees and they have no manager around making sure they are doing what they are supposed to do. As long as they collect the money from all the teams the facility is still left in the dirty run down condition that it has been in for years. Hundreds of dollars taken from each team and they cannot afford to fix the score board so you can read the numbers? Several bulbs are out and just left without repair.

It's a great place to take kids, and admission is free! The museum has exhibits, hands-on interactive displays, a cool night theater show, and a children's discovery/play room. You could also observe many beautiful and exotic bird species fly to and fro around the bird feeders out back through a large window. Upstairs are classrooms and a small library area. There are many hiking trails, including the Sensory Trail, a child-friendly 0.3 mile loop with special sensory exploratory features such as talking kiosks, musical play, and garden structures. There is also a playground and picnic areas in the vicinity. In addition, if you care to explore other parts of this 2,000+ acre reservation, drive or hike to nearby Watchung Stable to see the horses and riders; and for sure visit the Deserted Village of Feltville, a can't-miss area of Watchung with historic buildings dating back to the 18th century, and is a cool stroll.

They have a park nearby too which is walking distance. The center itself is cool, has a kids toy play area, a reading section and another section to learn of different animals - fake and real. Lots of parking in the area and when you're done, there is food nearby, about 15 minutes away. Definitely recommend if you are on a budget because family trips get expensive.

I'm here to tell you that if you live in the area, and you swim or have children who like to be outdoors in a pool, this is a way better way to get that experience than to have your own pool at home. The pool is split in 3 separate areas. 1 for swimming (25ft), 1 for adults (depth ~ 6 ft) and 1 general area for kids and adults to just be in the water. Outside the pool area there is a kiddo pool for those under 4 years old. Then there is a very nice water spray park with plenty of activities for those under 7 years old. Lastly, there are slides for those 14 and under when they can go all wet and slide down -- this is shaded under trees so it's cooler than the other areas. The park sells food, but people bring their own coolers with food and drinks (no alcohol). Bathrooms and change areas are cool and safe. People are really friendly, mostly teenagers acting as staff. Lifeguards are around in all sections. Children need to pass a swimming test to be in the other areas of the pool. If they do not know how to swim or thread in water, they get a yellow band and are confined to the recreation area. I've met plenty of people from the community. Everybody is friendly. People get the season pass and go there every time the weather is nice.

It was just about closing time and my husband and I were the only patrons left in the water. I put my arms around my husband and gave him a totally benign kiss when we were approached by a lifeguard who accused us of being sexually inappropriate. I immediately exited the pool and found a manager who wildly accused us of disorderly conduct. Furthermore if you have young children I advise against taking them here as although thong bikinis are against pool policy I see them on a regular basis.
