This business is unable to trim his nails without heavily sedating him because it is easier to medicate rather than just working quickly with care. When I ask questions, the staff is a bit argumentative and defensive. That is not pleasant for the dog or for me. This business is very efficient at collecting payment.

From the moment you walk in, you're greeted with warmness, they move you into a room quickly and tend to your pets with care. We love Amanda! Another bonus is that they have several great vets on staff. They're able to specialize in different things and collaborate with each other so they can cover all their bases. My young dog even got a specialized procedure from their orthopedic surgeon. He would have had to wait months for an appointment with a specialist somewhere else. All around, they're super accommodating, kind, and will take their time to get things right and make sure everyone's comfortable. That's the most important thing to me for a vet.

When I arrived I was amazed how big this place was it look like a hospital and emergency room for humans. when I walked in the door, the hospital staff saw how sick my puppy was and they immediately rushed up front to get her and took her straight back. She stayed in the hospital for four days. They called me every morning to let me know how she was doing and let me see her the care they provided for her was extraordinary. I've had to come up here several times for her neurological condition. I would highly recommend this hospital there by far the best in the area I would say in this region to me they're like taking a human going to UAB Birmingham, Alabama.

You may receive good care once you arrive with your credit card, but based on my experience, I would not trust Auburn to provide the urgent guidance and support you may need before you can get there. My experience with Auburn Veterinary Hospital during my dog's final night was an appalling failure of emergency care. Bailey was an established Auburn patient. The night she died, I was alone with her during a severe, life-threatening emergency, approximately an hour and a half from Auburn and at least 30 minutes from the nearest emergency facility. I called Auburn for guidance. Instead of treating the situation as the life-threatening emergency it was by getting a veterinarian or nurse on the phone, the receptionist was cheerful, dismissive, and completely tone-deaf to what was happening. Bailey needed help, and I was desperately trying to get her the care she needed. Auburn wasted precious time. I hung up and called Huntsville Veterinary Specialists; a facility I had previously taken Bailey to for a second opinion but ultimately chose not to continue care with because of the distance - 3.5 hours from home. The contrast could not have been more profound --- or damning to Auburn. HVSE immediately understood the seriousness of the situation and kept me calm enough to function. They found an emergency hospital capable of treating Bailey, contacted the hospital directly to prepare for our arrival, and stayed on the phone with me throughout the process. They even followed up afterward. That is what emergency support should look like. Auburn did not come close. I want to acknowledge that Auburn's neurology team was great when we met with them to establish Bailey as a patient. The specialists and fellows were compassionate, thorough, and took the time to discuss Bailey's care and options. Unfortunately, that positive experience does not erase what happened when we needed support most. The receptionist I spoke with that evening should be deeply ashamed of how she handled the situation and of the complete lack of urgency she demonstrated. If Auburn's policies and procedures dictate that this is how an emergency is handled, then the system itself is reprehensively broken. Bailey deserved better. We both did.

He did not listen to my advice and ended up getting bitten. As a result, the poor cat, who was already traumatized, had to be quarantined for ten days, adding to his trauma. Then, on top of that, he was only given a 1 year rabies shot so next year he will have to go through it all over again.
