After eating at a nearby restaurant, we decided to walk around the area. It turned out that right behind the restaurant we were at was Coconuts Ice Cream--perfect! The outside looks really quirky and small. As we approached the store, it didn't look like anybody was inside, but when we opened the door, there was about 8 people being served. Wow! We were like whoa, there's a lot going on in this little place. We each got what we wanted. I got chip cookie dough and coffee cone. My husband got a scoop of mint chip in a cup. It was really good and hit the spot. We saw others getting shaved ice. There was plenty of outside seating, but it was hot so we sat inside this small little store and ate our ice cream. read more

Treat yourself to a treat from this wonderful place for a dessert to remember. While best known for their shaved ice, they also offer smoothies, shakes and hand dipped ice cream. There are literally dozens of shaved ice flavors with thousands of possible flavor combinations! I personally love the shaved ice with added cream. A friend told me to order the tsunami next time. That is shaved ice AND a scoop of ice cream. The staff was friendly, patient and super quick! Go now! read more

We love the ice cream at coconuts, why a 3 star? We have been multiple times when they were out of stock of the ice cream we wanted. They have to do a better job with ordering. This has occurred 4 times! We don't live in Cartersville and travel there, we now call to ensure it is in stock! read more

Need to learn to write orders down, always have to repeat3-4 times. Half the time i go there i get a messed up order and the girls at the window dont have enough sense to know 5 items in a car needs trays and lids, common sense. Definitely going to try mangos across the street! read more

Landmark of Cartersville! Love their ice cream & milkshakes. Perfect after dinner treat!

Was jonesing for good, creamery-style ice cream so badly I was regularly looking up plane tickets to my native New England when a fellow transplant gave me a tip about Coconuts. I have to confess, I didn't think a teensy storefront in Cartersville called "Coconuts" sounded like what I was after, but I'm so glad I took the advice because this is the real deal! Ice cream is fantastic, menu includes both modern and old-fashioned flavors I grew up with (Black Walnut! Pralines & Cream!), and their shave ice is so good that even my ice-cream-hating husband asks to go here now. read more

ice cream was amazing but boss is HORRENDOUS. the poor girl was ringing me up and did the wrong total which was totally fine. The boss then came over to scream at her at took away the tip that i gave to her. who runs this place ??? read more

So many flavors and all, so far, are delicious. I think at this rate, I'll be able to try something new, every visit, the next year! The outdoor tables have umbrellas and there's a drive thru on a quirky little corner. Be prepared to wait in a car line that almost wraps the street corner but, you'll see. It is worth it! Walk up service is quick. And the staff is very friendly. This is a small town sweet treat! read more

One of those really cool little gem's. Kind of has a 1940's neighborhood ice cream shop theme going. They have this "Shave ice" stuff that is not like a snow cone at all. It's, light, fluffy and tastes really good. I got addicted to this stuff a few years ago and am now a regular. Super friendly owners and staff - ya just can't help but like this place. This place makes those chain frozen yogurt places look pretty sad. read more

Delicious ice cream! I have been here several times, and have not been disappointed a bit. Great prices, service, and a ton of options. The shaved ice will quite literally change your life, or at least make those taste buds dance! No seriously it's really good. Definitely look at the flavor list as others have recommended.
