Faaar too early one Monday morning, I visited Coco Espresso - along with the rest of Chatswood's working professionals, it would seem.
Although literally surrounded by competition - there are three other cafes and coffee shops within sight, and a countless amount within striking distance - Coco Espresso is absolutely heaving with people dressed in business suits looking for their morning caffeine hit.
And the foot traffic doesn't relent either - I sat at the coffee shop for about an hour, and the baristers didn't get a lull for the entire period I was there. Located close to the concentration of office buildings in Chatswood, Coco Espresso has itself a nice little niche - they churn out hundreds of coffees, smoothies and muffins every morning. With copies of the Sydney Morning Herald sitting around and breakfast television screening, it's a convenient place to screw up the courage to face another week at the office..
Convenience aside, Coco Espresso has its appeal. My flat white is served very promptly and at a great temperature - not scalding, but pretty close. The coffee itself was ok; nothing spectacular but certainly nothing offensive. The availability of outside seating is also a draw now that the weather is finally warming up. The service is extremely friendly, and clearly a point of pride amongst staff. Presumably, in a line of other competing businesses, something must be a point of difference! read more
