My challenge with this practice is that at certain times of the day the small-ish space feels over-filled with patients, resulting in one's rehab plan becoming hindered or lacking because most of the equipment and treatment tables are in use at the same time. And for folks recovering from procedures & injuries, such chaos and crowding stressful at best, non-conducive to healing at worst. At slower times of the day the range of therapeutic options are very effective. That said, therapists have a tendency to congregate at the desk and chat amongst themselves vs. closely monitoring or effectively checking in with the 3-4 patients they are treating at one time. Whereas Kevin was much more involved with his patients, he is no longer with the practice, and I see no need to continue services there. Generally, as a rehab professional myself, I found all of the above disappointing.

I left after a few visits because I saw the therapists being rude and indifferent with older patients. Because I am the kind of person who likes to see goodness in the world, I won't give my business to people who are nasty, or rude, or ageist. When you first walk in to ATC, you will know that is is different from other places. The front desk people are friendly and helpful, and they know you by name. I have seen them chat with people waiting for rides, and help people in wheelchairs in and out of the doors. They always have a smile and accommodate your scheduling needs without frustration. In the therapy area, which is big, and well-lit, and pleasant and modern, they have happy, upbeat music playing, you will see all sorts of rehab going on, from sports to geriatric, to pre-and post-joint replacement. Their patients are of a wide range of age and capability. It is wonderful to see the therapists treat all of their patients as if they, and their physical issues, are very important. They are especially kind to older patients, which warmed my heart to see. Wendy, the owner, is that special kind of person who is warm, genuinely caring, always remembers your name, even if you aren't her direct patient. She has the right balance between friendliness and chattiness and brilliant professionalism. She makes people want to go there. I believe that, to her, her patients are not just a paycheck....she REALLY cares. Alex, who was my primary therapist, is a genius. He got to the bottom of my shoulder injury, even better than my surgeon did, and the rehab he designed for me has helped regain flexibility that I haven't had in a number of years. He has a clinical doctorate, which in my understanding, is the physical therapy equivalent of an MD, so he is not just some guy putting you through a generic list of exercises. He knew how hard to push me, and when I hit a little wall some weeks into it, he figured out some muscular stuff that needed attention and we addressed it. His is gifted at stretching, and overall, my PT experience was better than I could have imagined. Physical, occupational and speech therapy worked very hard on getting my wife to talk and start using her body better. She has a long road ahead but is trying very hard. Isis (physical therapy), Lydia (speech therapy) and Jonathan (occupational therapy) are trained specialists in dealing with stroke patients. They all do their job exceptionally well. Jonathan not only displays his skills but also has a spiritual connection with us as well. He is most compassionate and very caring for my wife. He inspires my wife to always do better and she responds to him very well. Always there to do his job but also listens to my wife if she needs help understanding things. I wouldn't leave her alone there. I was with her all day and hired a private nurse to stay with her at night The place was filled with cockroaches. The food was absolute pig slop. It is simply a place for people who have no family to lay in bed all day every day and die. Luckily I was able to get my mother out of there after three weeks of her health deteriorating. She is now in memorial regional Hospital, which is wonderful. The nastiness of the employees at this facility is something I've never experienced in my life. They treated my mother like garbage and they treated me even worse. this place needs to go out of business.

My pain always returns sometimes taking my breath away. Level 8 pain is excruciating and debilitating. Several years ago it was recommended that I meet with Dr Chad Frank. My friend was confident Dr Frank could offer relief from my suffering. I knew nothing about Osteopathic treatment but took the advice and made the appointment. My experience with the Non-Surgical Center for Physical and Sports Medicine Center has been wonderful. The waiting room never has more than one or two patients because the staff understand the value of patients time. It's a wonderful thing to be treated courteously by office staff. Dr Chad Frank has been able to relieve my back pain which allows me greater range of motion. I know that when my back "goes out" I can trust that Dr Frank will be there to help. I have practically crawled into the center at times because when my back acts up the pain is intense. After just one visit I realize significant relief from my agony. I have not used drugs or injections as part of my treatment with Dr Frank. I know it's an option, but I have not needed to do so. I feel blessed and grateful for Dr Chad Frank.
