Going to the Cobbler's Bench is like stepping back in time. It appears to be a one man show. My first visit I was nervous leaving my shoes with my # on a paper with the mounds of other repairs, but he has it all in his head! I called to check on my repairs and he knew my whole order. I do recommend planning in advance, especially if you are getting shoes resoled and he has to order new soles. I have had several pairs of shoes repaired here and it is my go to repair shop now! Best of all was new soles on a pair of Birkenstocks.....they were like new but broken in. He even repaired the cork! Amazing! Prices are fair for the work being done. read more

called in before coming in,asked if he could fix a strap on my Tory Burch sandals and I needed them done by the next day(I know super last minute) he said to bring them in.I took them in and told me they would be ready in 30 min,I finished my errands came back about 45 min later and he had them ready.Not only was this the fastest shoe repair but good customer service and pricing was awesome,I will be back. will recommend to all my family members and friends. read more

Great work done by a dying breed. The guy there is definitely an original. Quirky even. You could have plopped him back in the old west in the 1800's and he would have fit right in...and been able to repair boots and saddles. My boots look good as new. read more

To be perfectly honest I went here because of the yelp reviews. I am thinking the great reviews must be from family members or people he paid to write good stuff. I came here two years ago and he couldn't get my shoes done in a week but I figured he was having an off day, Back then he didn't have any reviews. Fast forward I bring my shoes in on February 6, 2018 and he says I can have them done at the end of the day. I say great so I come back at the end of the day and they are not done. I said I would come back Friday and he says they will be done. I come back Friday and still not done. He says Monday but I was traveling so I said Wednesday. I come back today on 2/14/18 and they are still not done. He has managed to pull the old heels off and his excuse is I didn't get my shipment in. The place is disorganized and I had to help him find my damned shoes, not to mention dirty. To top it all off he lost the ticket with my contact information. Outstanding Service! My husband walked in needing the heal on a brand new pair of shoes fixed. Fully expecting to have to leave the shoes and not knowing what the cost would be. He was amazed to get serviced while he waited and in less than five minutes, he was done! Highly recommend this location if you need a repair. Went in to get my favorite shoes repaired and even though the owner was not able to fix them perfectly, he did his best. Apparently the shoe part I needed was beyond repair, and since he couldn't make them perfect he didn't charge me, and THAT is why he gets a 5 star rating, because he's a professional. read more

I first discovered this hidden gem last year, when I brought in a pair of shoes that had been repaired shoddily at the mall. I had been charged $20 for subpar work at the mall, here I paid $5 for excellent, craftsman level work. I've been back for all kinds of shoe repairs and maintenance of my leather shoes and boots. I was very disappointed after being recommended to this place by a friend. I came in with 4 pair of shoes/sandals/boots, 3 just needing new heels put on and a pair of boots needing a zipper repair. He told me that he was so busy he could pick and choose what work to do and not to do and he wasn't going to do the zipper repair. Well I decided to go ahead and leave the 3 pair that needed heels(this was 1.5 weeks before Thanksgiving), he said they would be ready in a couple of days. When I called 3 days later they were not ready but he said they would be ready the next day. I was busy getting ready to go out of town and did not worry about them until I returned. One week after Thanksgiving I went to the shop to pick up my shoes and they were still not done!!!! He said he would have them ready in 30 minutes and when I commented on the fact that they had been there long before Thanksgiving he proceeded to get a bag and put my shoes in it and handed them to me.
