The meat they stock is well priced, fresh and 'nice' according to my mother (as a vegetarian I don't really have an opinion on the taste of it, but I'm sure its great). The girls at the counter are delightful, who remember your face and are always super friendly. Parking is easy and they are part of the AA petrol discount scheme, which is even more incentive to visit. Don't expect to find anything organic or free-range here, but if price is the bottom line for you then Lim's is the place to go.

At the Mad Butcher they always have great weekly specials, so it's always good to hop onto their website and check out their great deals for the week. The other night my flat bought 1kg of pork belly for only $12!! Amazing, and man did it taste good! They also had all the additional extras for sale too, this included gravy packets and apple sauce! We left there set and ready to cook a roast! Located behind the Mobile gas station, by the McDonalds and KFC is where the Glen Innes Mad Butcher can be found. There is plenty of onsite parking available at this location, however if it is busy there is also street parking available on Line Road.

But my Countdown is so familiar and I know where everything is, and the checkout staff all know me (and see and hear my kids coming a mile off). My tips: the fruit and vege section is really good. In addition, if you go at the end of the day you are likely to pick up some bargains - plenty of perfectly good items are reduced. Also at the end of the day, the entire bakery gets marked down, so you can buy anything you like for $1-$2 each. There's always good bargains in the meat section too. And the specialty cheeses have a basket for their specials. 9pm Sunday night is my favourite time to shop :)

I really like shopping at Countdown as everything is nicely presented and easy to find. They also have a lot of great specials and deals which helps with the savings. Meadowbank Countdown has a butcher, a deli and seafood specialist. They also have fresh bread baked daily on offer. Yuuuummm arriving first ting in the morning to get lunch on the way to work is the best as the delicious bread smell lingers around the supermarket. A great asset to Countdown is their One Cards. These help you save money when purchasing items. They also have weekly specials that can bump up the amount of points you would usually get for a particular product. Once you've received 200 points, they send you out a $15 voucher to use towards your next shop. I find this an awesome incentive and one of the main reasons I choose to shop at Countdown. Also, if you send over $40 you receive 4 cents off a liter at Z and gull gas stations. Depending on the specials that month they may have better gas savings. This is another good reason to shop at countdown as they're helping you save money in all areas.
