THIS COMPANY TAKES ADVANTAGE OF WOMEN!!!" ""PLEASE READ THIS BAD REVIEW!!…read moreI was offshore when my outdoor tankless water heater went out, my wife called to let me know. I wasn't home to diagnose so we had to call a plumbing company. My wife chose Trahans/Dougs because they had a high rating on Google. I had an idea what might be wrong with the water heater because of the code it was showing on the thermostat. Trahans came out and immediately told my wife that they are unable to fix because they don't make the parts for this unit anymore, they told her we needed a brand new system no matter what and gave us an estimate for $9,000 to replace!!!! I told my wife this was absurd and do not agree to a replacement!!! I came home about a week later to diagnose the problem myself! I found out what was wrong with it and that I could in fact buy the parts if need be. They flat out lied to us. Being that I knew what the issue was I called two other plumbing companies to see what they would charge to change out the part. Long story short the two other companies agreed with the issue on hand and they recommended a full replacement as the part would cost a 1/3 of what a full replacement costs. I ended up getting an estimate for 2400 and an estimate for 2700 for full replacement!! Conclusion: This company took advantage of my wife alone at the house and tricked her into to almost buying a new system for almost 4 times the amount of what the other companies will charge! They lied to us about being able to get parts to fix the system!!! USE THIS COMPANY AT YOUR OWN RISK!!!
