In general, the restored houses & the interesting stuff, is not open to the public, except on special occasions. I am a donor & supporter and even I often get forgotten for email invites. Since I am a relatively new local & was not born & raised here, my enthusiasm is not as great as those who can trace their ancestry back to Price's time. Awhile back, when I first donated, I went to check the place out. I found some hardy volunteers struggling with cutting grass & dealing with a water leak. I helped as best as I could, until a kind police officer used quite a bit of muscle to fully close a shut off main. After that ordeal, the caretaker was kind enough to give me a brief, but nice little tour of the inside of the Price house. While volunteers did an amazing job of restoration, some stuff was not original. The history of Price house can be found on the internet, if you are curious. As for the park area itself, it is pleasant enough, but rather raw & undeveloped. There is really not much to do nor see...especially for kids. I do appreciate the place for it's history & it still being sort of a serene oasis among the ugly developments. I have also found it to be a nice spot for some wildflower pics when in season. I think that it is a nobel endeavor & they do on-line donations if you are kind enough.

I wasn't being helped by the county's public human services department despite asking for assistance multiple times over the past 5 years, which left me in a desperate situation. At the time, I was experiencing homelessness, severe trauma, health complications on top of disability's, and impaired judgment due to overwhelming circumstances. Rather than receiving protection or a trauma-informed response, I was treated as an offender after finding a wallet while in an altered state of mind due to homelessness, trauma and disabling medical distress needing immediate refuge. Even after returning the wallet & full repayment, since that incident, instead of receiving protection, the Arroyo Grande Police Department targeted, profiled, and criminalized me, while failing to recognize the severe abuse and dangers I face, even when I later became the victim of a robbery by another Arroyo Grande resident they didn't take equal actions against the other Arroyo Grande resident who had actually robbed me, showing clear bias and unequal treatment. The one commendable act I can acknowledge is that on one occasion officers personally returned my service dog to me, rather than transferring her to animal services. However, the broader handling of my case reflected clear bias and unequal treatment, targeted profiling, and continued criminalization, showing a serious lack of understanding toward survivors in crisis. I hope the department will improve its training in trauma-informed practices and ensure equal, compassionate treatment for all community members, especially those seeking safety from abuse.
