Dr cassedy is the greatest human to ever walk this earth. He's the most attentive caring doctor I've ever had in my life. I needed vivitrol the day I got released and he made it happen. He educated my parents and held our hands walked us through the scariest time of our lives. When I had an emergency and I didn't know what to do out of state needing a prescription, I called him. None of my other doctors were reachable but he took the time to call me after hours, send a prescription to a different state and give me life advice. Let me start by saying I have never gone on Yelp to give a negative review before. Super disappointed in this practice and the way the owner Dr Cassidy handled the situation over the phone today. I walked into this business on 5/16/23 and asked the front assistant (her name is Loveling) for a total cost estimate I would pay for semaglutide medication. I informed her I'm a cash paying customer and I don't have insurance, I would like to know how much I'll pay out of the door in TOTAL for this specific service. Loveling told me $100 for labwork and $200 per month for the injections. I paid the $100 and today was told my additional total is $600 to be paid today. What??? I tried explaining this to Dr Cassidy on the phone today, and he wouldn't even let me speak. He went on and on and on for 20 minutes yelling on the phone, but did not let me speak whatsoever!! He kept yelling over me and wouldn't even hear me out! Dr Cassidy and his staff need to be crystal clear and TRANSPARENT about the verbal quotes they give to patients. If the total cost to the patient is $700, then say $700!! Please don't tell me $100 plus $200, then it suddenly turns into $700 total. Also when your staff makes a mistake, just OWN UP TO IT AND APOLOGIZE, do not yell at me on the phone for 20 minutes saying I am the one who misunderstood price. Had I known I was going to pay $700, I would have passed on this service obviously. Make sure you get written estimates if you are a cash paying customer!!! read more

Personally, I'm certain my life would have continued down the same path of substance abuse "sustainability", or, "maintenance" as opposed to clean sobriety had I not met Dr. Cassedy. Based on our first conversation, Dr. Cassedy developed a very strict time table to reach sobriety based on comfortable short term goals. Having an addictive personality, those short-term goals gave me the instant gratification that I needed to keep moving forward, but never had in the past. They let me drop in with out an appointment, they seem busy but I never have waited more than 5 or 10 minutes. Dr. Cassidy literally saved my life and I'll never be able to repay or thank him enough for all that he has done for me. I struggled for years with addiction to opiates and my story is very similar to millions of other's. It all started with pills that were prescribed due to an injury and quickly turned into an obsession and addiction. YOU CAN DO IT! At the age of 50, I had it all. I was the Sr. V.P. of Public and Professional Relations/Chief Dental Officer of the nation's largest dental service plan at $4.5 billion per year. I had a salary package worth more money than we could spend and a set of golden handcuff's retirement plan that kept me away from the competition. We lived in a 5 level house on a hill overlooking the golf course, had all of the best toys from motorcycles to a yacht and wanted for nothing. In a single blackout call in the middle of the night to our new CEO's private line, I managed to lose it all because of a mixture of drugs and alcohol! Then after full head and neck cosmetic surgery that went wrong, my Superficial Temporal Artery had to be tied off and in his haste to stop the bleeding, multiple sites of all 3 branches of the Trigeminal Nerve were damaged beyond repair. I am a big believer that if you do not like a service then you don't go back, however this is regarding your health and your rights as a client at a medical facility. Dr. Cassidy is the most unprofessional MD I have ever met. Since I am a nurse that works in different hospitals through out southern California I deal with a lot of different types of MD's and it is saying a lot that Dr. Cassidy has the least amount of bedside manners and is the most unprofessional MD I have ever met. What kind of MD walks in to his practice an hour late and is cussing? What kind of MD walks into a patient room stating "What are you here for" without introducing themselves or apologizing that they were an hour late to showing up for work? What kind of MD says he does not fill out paper work or takes calls regarding patients? What kind of MD gets upset if you do not have all the answers to their questions?What kind of MD throws paper work and clip boards around his office in front of staff and clients? Avoid this place at all cost. First of all this place looks and feels like it ran by a whole bunch of recently graduated people lead by a doctor that is swamped with work and has little time to supervise his staff's work. I went there to get all my vaccines updated and also had some blood taken for some additional tests. So the first thing that comes out of the guy that is about to take my blood sample is if i am afraid of needles because the person before me fainted.... That should have been my first signal that this was not going to go very well. I proceeded to answer that no, i am not afraid of needles, just get the usual uneasiness of being pricked. So this guy proceeded to do the usual blood sampling protocol amnd after inserting the needle in my arm and no blood coming out, he goes around moving the needle around, while it was still inserted!! During that time i feel that the other side of my arm feels like it's getting pinched or something, because god knows what this person punctured/damaged inside my arm because he couldnt find a vein or what not. As soon as i leave the clinic i developed a bruise in my arm where i felt the pinch. To this day i still feels like my arm gets this feeling of being pinched if i move my arm in a certain position. I am to this date in complete disbelief and will consider sueing the clinic if this condition doesn't get better some time soon. Absolutely zero stars, and avoid at all costs if you can. Dr. Cassedy & the entire Coastal Care staff are truly the last of a dying breed in the lost art of the personal family doctor. It has been my families 1st stop for all of our medical needs for almost a decade. He has always demonstrated an awesome bedside manner with the kids and an extremely friendly demeanor with us. I especially appreciate his comprehensive approach to addressing all of our medical needs in what I feel has always been truly personal medical care. He has made himself available countless times after hours to address the needs of my sick children on weekends and late nights, often times following up personally days after to make sure all is well. All my experiences over many years have left me to conclude you can visit expecting to see a perfectionist in a field where perfection is not always attainable, knowing that he will do everything he can to help including pointing you in the right direction through referral when necessary. My experience at Coastal Care Urgent Care was a life changing experience. I was skeptical at first when my brother approached me begging me to send him to see Dr. Paul Cassidy. I was skeptical at first because the concept of a shot used to treat Opiate addiction seamed too good to be true. I made the mistake of sending my brother (age 36) to an $11,000 dollar rehab in Lake Arrowhead. He left after a week and the detox process was a joke. They replaced his opiates with other addictive drugs so when he left he was still addicted. My brother begged me once again to see Dr. Cassidy and this time I listened. He sent my brother to detox at a local hotel less then a mile from his office. That was when the reality of how addicted my brother was hit me. Dr. Cassidy then sent the most amazing human being by the name of Doug S. To stay with my brother through the detox process. My brother gave Doug S. a run for his money full of tantrums, fits, yelling, pain and psychological hardship. It was the first time in 5 years my brother was completely detoxing off of opiates. Doug S. Had my brothers back and talked him through the entire detox process in the most professional manner. He hadn't even know my brother before this and treated him like he would his own son. Simultaneously, Doug S. Continued to update all of our family members several times throughout the day and night on how things were progressing with my brother. Doug S. Is the reason we made it through and it could not have been done without his hands on approach.
