A few minutes later, I had decided. A Peroni (Italian beer), the 'sticky wings' appetiser and the lamb shank with mashed potatoes for my main. The beer arrived within a few minutes with a Peroni-logo'ed glass. My second beer didn't come with a fresh glass. The "sticky wings" were supposed to arrive coated with Louisiana hot sauce and blue cheese dip. While the wings (all five were drumsticks) were quite meaty and very hot, the hot sauce itself was not especially spicy and the blue cheese was a bland ranch-like dressing. The two sticks of celery looked pretty lonely. And then, the lamb shank. Big. Hot. In a flat bowl on top of a pile of mashed potatoes that tasted fresh (not packet) and sliced carrots/broccoli (that didn't seem fresh) and lots of fresh brown gravy that was delicious. The lamb was cooked to medium (no one asked how I wanted it) and the meat fell off easily. Absolutely delicious. In fact, perfect. And at £11.25, a pretty good deal. I opted to skip dessert.
