It's always amazes me how a venue has no handicap amenities except in the bathrooms. Why the owners choose this chaos is baffling. There was a tent for the bar, but with all the rain of late a tent for waiting guests would have been nice as we waited in mass in a thunderstorms. It's an attractive venue on the small side. The seats a terribly uncomfortable and entirely too close for grown adult The staff was curt an abrupt as they were adding chairs for the event. It was a basic mess with bad vibes. Freezing the entire evening. We had to leave it was so uncomfortably cold. The parking lot is a tripping hazard. Big broken pieces to navigate with pot holes. I'm extremely excited to see the performance tonight and this is no reflection on the artist we came to see.

This place is NOT what it advertises. First, they claim to offer a continental-style "light…read morebreakfast." That would have been fine. However, that is not what was offered. Instead, there was a pot of coffee and some packets of instant grits. There is absolutely no maid or housekeeping service whatsoever. Three days of wet towels because no one ever changed them, or made the bed. In fact, when we arrived in the room, someone's candy wrapper was still on the nightstand. I took a photo of it. The website also failed to mention that it is adjacent to the train tracks, so all night long you get to hear trains go by (along with their whistles). This regularly recurring event shakes the floor and bed several times during the night. The website also does not explain that the "Grand Ballroom" is across a very tiny courtyard from two of the rooms, so for two nights in a row we were forced to deal with noisy people partying and smoking in the courtyard, their shouts and cigarette smoke wafting up to our room. We couldn't sleep until after midnight both nights. Not once did we see any owner or manager. It's a shame that such a beautiful house is run by people who have no idea what hospitality means.

It could use some updating, but at $50 a night on weekends, it is almost half as much as others in the area. We are on a very tight budget, were exhausted, and didn't feel like paying $90 for hotels that were receiving one to two star reviews with warnings like "Stay away" and "better to sleep in your car", so I opted to give this one a chance. Fancy it isn't, but I didn't have one complaint about the comfort or cleanliness, and that is HUGE in my book. PLUS, the managers are English speaking, good old fashioned Americans, and the place is owned by the same. If you are super sensitive to decor or fancy accoutrements, if you have a problem with your possible neighbors staying in a room long-term, then this is not the place for you. If you are in search of comfortable beds, and a very clean room, run by Americans that are more than polite, they are FRIENDLY, then your hard earned money is well spent here.

Hell Hole!!! This…read moreplace is disgusting! Was on a cross country drive and wasn't looking to spend a lot on lodging. I consistently found decent, clean, safe places in the $50 range. Spent the same here but it was awful, just awful. I called ahead and asked for a non-smoking room. The room I got stunk like smoke and dampness. I was exhausted and had already paid so I sucked it up and stayed. The window didn't open so I couldn't air it out and the creeps downstairs were hooting and hollering so I wouldn't have been able to sleep. The fridge had rust spots all over it. The carpet was stained and damp and totally gross. The bedspread was torn and had gummy crap stuck to it. The shower faucet was rusted and worn and the curtain was moldy. Top to bottom and wall to wall this place was a dirty smelly dump. Again I was so tired I roughed it out but if it hadnt been so late I would've demanded a refund and slept in the sewer; it would've been a huge improvement.
