I had my hygiene appointment with Belkis at Coast Dental, and she was wonderful. She is very professional, kind, and caring. She made me feel comfortable throughout the entire visit and provided excellent service. I truly appreciate her kindness and dedication. Thank you, Belkis, for such a great experience! read more

If I could give this place zero stars, I would. They will overcharge you thousands of dollars and make the refund process atrocious. I've never dealt with such idiocy in my life. Working customer service for six years and have never been in a situation like this. The phone representative will put you on hold when you're in the middle of talking to them about a problem because she didn't wanna listen to it. Don't ever go here unless you wanna be out of a ton of money and have the hardest time getting it back. read more

Let's start with the obvious **45min wait...pushing the sales, sales, sales. ** Pushing procedures that are not needed (i.e. Deep cleaning for $1650). Since 45min of sales tactics was not working, they suggested let's try the $530 silicone trays with 1 tube of hydrogen peroxide for you to use at home every night (trays that cost $20 at CVS). ** Telemedicine dentist.... OMG, now I have seen it all....yes, I got a dentist to see me on video and she was not even part of the office team... she's a dentist paid by that office to read the X-rays remotely. Unless she is God...she couldn't even see the actual surfaces of the top of the teeth...I actually pointed out to her that my #19 had a small dent and she went oh, I see....yes. It's 100% snake oil saleman!! Btw..I have a good dental insurance. Since they couldn't find anything wrong with my teeth, they refused to do the normal cleaning and had that dentist on video intimidate me with scare tactics that if I don't accept deep cleaning, then no cleaning will be done at all....then, I was told that my insurance is only a discount plan, which is b.s. because it's a dental plan purchased in Obamacare market place and it's illegal for it to be a discount plan...I should know because I am an insurance agent and I sell Obamacare insurance plans. Office visited: Coastal dental in Brandon florida... Bloomingdale ave. I will not recommend any of the chain store dentist ....It's all BBB nightmare Fyi... Coastal Dental is not BBB accredited at all....Too many complaints and fraud read more

Not sure how this place is in business!! extremely extremely disappointing. I rearrange my whole entire afternoon to come here for basic CLEANING & CHECK UP thats ALL I NEEDED AND what an awful experience from start to me walking out! I walked in no one said hello extremely unfriendly-- these reviews must be from friends and family because I've never had such a poor experience. A 45 minute wait to go in the back the girl that barely speaks English it is now telling me I'm probably not gonna get a cleaning because it's late and that she's trying to upsell me on a cancer screening and my insurance doesn't cover it and I should know about my insurance covers lol Say what?!!! She also had an attitude when I told her I just want the cleaning I scheduled and an exam. I gave her a chance to make it right and she kept pushing the cancer screening and told me I would have to pay out of pocket more than what a cleaning and an exam are ( and I wasn't even getting a cleaning ‍) you can get cheaper on a Groupon!! I was astonished!! I then just got up and I walked out. Sad how people have to upsell and take advantage of people! Horrible place! read more

The absolute BEST dentist you could ever ask for!!! She is detail oriented and truly cares about her patients! Her staff is absolutely incredible, as well!!! I feel so blessed to have found Coast Dental Bloomingdale!!! read more

Please check your bill and your credit card statements. My husband was a patient twice for a root canal procedure and we were overcharged 620 plus dollars. When we complained the office manager was very rude and told me that we may have to wait up till 6 weeks for the refund. Also keep checking you credit cards, I just discovered another charge which hasn't posted yet. I have contacted their main office in Orlando and I haven't received my refund or even a response and now I have to deal with another charge too. read more

Terrible experience. I came in a week ago to get an extraction and they told me my insurance approved it for TODAY & that my insurance would cover 90% while I only had to pay a small 10% I called an hour before my appointment just for them to tell me they cannot do it and I have to pay out of pocket for the entire extraction!!! They never even submitted authorization to my insurance. I have pain and waited 2 weeks for them to be extremely disappointing. The lady kept cutting me off on the phone with what sounded like an attitude so no thanks will not be coming again. read more

They are very rude and charged me when I never even got to see the dentist, the dental hygienist doesn't do a good job at all literally did my cleaning in less than 2 mins I wouldn't recommend this place to my worst enemy. read more

Waited an hour and a half for scheduled appointment. Son got xrays but then had to get another set since assistant did not know how to do complete set. Another assistant was very rude to us as we waited for hygienist. She insisted I wait in waiting room because the hygienist was uncomfortable with parents being in the room. When she came out with my son she was very unprofessional. read more

My first round of visits required a root canal and cap. When it came time for my cleaning the hygienist spent more time with pen and paper then actually cleaning. Actually he aggressively scraped a couple of teeth but never cleaned them. Told me I required an expensive deep cleaning. If they didn't do it they could lose their license. I refused the service. Six months later I was scheduled to return and they refused to clean my teeth unless I paid for the deep cleaning service stating again they would loss their license. Of course this is a scheme for the green putting the Dr's preference over patient wishes. Needless to say I cancelled my appointment and left the office. This location definitely has confused the Dr and patient relationship especially between a suggestion and a mandate. read more

TRASH!!! I had an extraction scheduled, I called to confirm my appoint because I am in so much pain with my wisdom tooth that needs removed. They told me they had a sooner appointment so i took it, the dentist office called and told me they couldn't do the appointment and they wouldn't let me keep my original appointment. They were extremely RUDE and UNPROFESSIONAL! I would NEVER recommend anyone to go to Coast Dental. read more

When I went and had a few cavities filled, I paid $700 out of my pocket (insurance paid their portion too) and about 2 months later I get a bill for $830, when I asked about it I'm told to talk to insurance- so I did and the claims and amounts billed to them were totally different than what coast claims to have billed. When calling coast back I'm told they're too busy and that I have to talk to insurance and if I come in to talk in person they'll just make me sit in the waiting room. So now that bill is in collections since I spent what I had saved for the visit when I went. Bottom line, if you don't want to get screwed financially then DO NOT go here. read more

WARNING! When given what Coast Dental of Bloomingdale calls a "Proposed Treatment Plan" for any dental services, be prepared to pay much more than the patient's responsibility. I was "told" I would only be responsible for $83.40 whereas they billed me for a total of $223.40. Even if it's an estimate, that was way off. read more

I would give zero stars if possible. Please do not Make the same mistake and go to this dentist office. They are known for their malpractice yet still remain as a recommended provider for MetLife Tricare. Shame on me for relying on this list and it verifying. My wife has been unable to eat for months as we await a grievance of the terrible work they did with some routine cavities. It's the Asian female to be specific. You'll notice they don't rebuttal any of these reviews either. read more

Ok so I'm going break it down this is a older office yes u wait sometimes for your appointment but if you call they get you in pretty fast I had a major tooothach and it Friday no one would see me my face was swollen and stuff well I called the lady who answered was very sweet she told me to come over now! When I got there that same lady the receptionist greeted me real nice like she went out of her way to find out my insurance info cause I forgot my card thank gos she found it what a doll! The lady doctor Loy was as kind as could be couldn't pull my tooth that day cause it needed to calm down the infection with meds so I'll go back this week after reading the crappy review I gotta say you all must of been at the wrong office or this staff wasn't there cause they were all real kind and caring and great customer service. Thank ya kindly ladies at Bloomingdale's coast dental leave the negative stuff at the door and maybe you won't get attuide like one lady said. It all starts with us to you know we may be the patient but we gotta have patience as well the lord don't like ugly read more

After waiting several months they call me an hour before my appointment only to tell me they don't take my insurance. They only take my particular insurance under Medicare. I had called prior to confirm if they took my insurance several months before, then went to their office to drop off my paperwork. Incompetent! read more

Never had a problem with this facility. I go to the one on Highway 60 and love this place. Dr Caudill is the best. No problems at all. Mom attends the Bloomingdale office and she loves it. read more

Unfortunately, I made the mistake of checking the reviews of this dental practice AFTER going through the same issues that other reviewers discussed. I agree 100% with the other reviewers. Dr. Li is unfriendly and up charges her patients. She REFUSED to give me a general cleaning that was covered by my insurance and and forced me to get a non-general cleaning that was not covered by my insurance. Honestly, whatever cleaning she claimed this to be seemed very similar to a general cleaning. Moreover, she charged my insurance a ridiculous amount for filling a small cavity. After all the upcharge, they have the nerve to try and sell me their products. No thank you. Beware of upcharging, unfriendly staff that's in a not too clean setting. read more

Absolutely terrible service. The dentists are more than a little rough with your teeth and to top it all off, the policies are absolutely ridiculous. Generally, rescheduling an appointment because of tardiness is acceptable if the patient is late by 15 minutes or more. However, in my experience, my appointment was cancelled when I was only 4 minutes late. Also, in the waiting room, you can't be on your phone when the dentists come in to call you. read more

Horrible they purposely do things to mess your teeth up to charge you more . The dentist is very rough and not the best bedside manner either. The only good part is the office manager she is the only real person there. Even the hygienist was trying to scare me into spending more money . read more

Extremely rude staff, from the ladies behind the desk to the hygienist to the female Asian dentist. It seemed like every recommendation was aimed to make them more money. Other dental care options were not advised whatsoever. Tried them 2X, thinking the first negative experience was a fluke. Never again! read more

Save your time and money and go else where!!! I scheduled an appointment originally for a new patient consultation and cleaning- Standard procedure. In walking into the office everything looked nice. However, once I was called back, everything spiraled down hill from there. As a patient, you are brought back to a very small area. The lady that was supposed to take my ex rays ended up disappearing for several minutes so I was left to wait, until I brought it to the attention of someone else who then took over. Next, my visit proceed with the use of an out dated x ray machine in which every tooth has to be x rayed for them to properly exam your teeth. This was a total of 18 picture and very painful. Most practice only take 4 bite wing x rays. Following, I was lead to an even smaller room to wait more. The doctor came in and even though she was very nice, the ability to understand her was horrible. Mind you, I didn't even get my teeth cleaned yet so I was confused on why I was being seen by her first. Finally the show stopper, I was then told that I would not be seen by the hygienist because there were already 2 people ahead of me and that I would need to make another appointment. I had already taken of time from work, using personal leave to have this appointment and now they tell me I have to take off more time from work to get my teeth cleaned. Absolutely Unacceptable!!! I have never been to an establishment where this is policy. Granted some teeth are better than others, so different treatment is necessary. But DO NOT tell me that my appointment is for a new patient visit and cleaning and then tell me that I will not be seen. After much back and forth they said they could fit me in but it will be another 35 minutes. Taking what should have been a quick hour to two hours. Needless to say, I did not get my teeth cleaned on that day. Coast Dental wasted my time and money. I will not be returning. read more

HUGE RIPOFF STAY AWAY FROM THIS DENTAL GROUP. I went in for a simple cleaning and x-rays. My insurance changed and I wanted to use an in-network provider. Since my last cleaning was 6 months ago and there were no problems. The estimate I left this appointment with was over $8,000.00 I refused any further treatment from the Dentist and took the estimate to my previous Dentist. He explained that everything on the estimate was fraud. Then the office had the nerve to call me and ask why I had not made a follow up appointment and how necessary the procedures were. If you want your teeth cleaned go somewhere else. This place will clean out your wallet !!! read more

Re: Coast Dental 165 E. Bloomindale Avenue Brandon Fl. 33511 Buyer Beware! Per my insurance company my out of pocket charge should have been $14.00 only. I was charged $117.00. This office uses every effort to mislead and over bill their patients. They will charge you for procedures and products you do not need. You can insist that you want only the procedures and products your insurance company covers and they will still present you with a bill to sign where they knowingly charged for uncovered services or products. They don't even submit the complete care plan to the insurance company for review. This tactic allows them to avoid insurance company scrutiny. In short you will be ripped off. Also, when you are sitting in the hygienists chair with your mouth open is not the time to be discussing your care plan and bill. This protocol appears to be part of their rip off scheme of confusion. I don't know how the other Coast Dental locations operate but this location referenced above is horrific. Again buyer beware! read more
