It took 18 emails to get a response from a Manager, but once I did she credited my account 10! Very happy, but asked her to please talk to her staff, it really should NOT have taken this many emails and 3 days to get a positive response after so many years dealing with them but Im happy :) read more

It's impossible to get to talk to anyone on the phone at my branch this is ridiculous. This is the poorest service of any bank i have ever banked with. read more

I banked with Coast Capital for over 15yrs. Moved to Alberta and now they tell me I have to pay a lawyer to close my account. My fiance just closed an account with TD over the phone with no problem. I had to send them a "letter of direction" and a couple days later they call to tell me that my signature did not match exactly. Being in the industry I am in I shortened it as I sign my name a lot. So I let the person on the phone know that I changed my signature about 10 years ago and any Coast Capital cheques signed in the last 10 years have my current signature. Also my current drivers licence has my current signature. I offered to send a copy of my current government issued drivers licence and also offered to re-sign the form with my previous signature, after that I was put on hold. The person came back and said that her manager said that would not work and I had to get my drivers licence notarized by a lawyer. So they want me to pay $100-$150 and spend an hour out of my day going to see a lawyer to close my account. What a joke.. I was hoping that Coast Capital was going to come to Alberta as I heard they were but now I would never do business with them again. You don't have problems like this with regular banks. Put your money elsewhere. read more

On a Saturday, and this place wasn't open on the outside, no matter, that is what ATM's are for, and they have a drive through one....? Yes one drive through one, I don't get it, I have never understood drive through ATM's, is it really convenient, what if you have many transactions to do in one go, and you know that some people are dim-witted where they would leave their car idle while they are going through their transactions, talk about a waste of gas, and loading up the environment with fumes... sucks to be you, the car that is behind the one that is just there... where it seems like forever (you know once in your life this has happened at the ATM, where you wish they would just go to the counter!). Also... for this drive through ATM, for my car, it totally doesn't make sense, I drive a lower to the ground sports-car (no modifications) and I still had to open my door and readjust myself to operate this machine. But in the end I got my money, and I got it quick, but the drive through ATM, I still shake my head and just don't get it, not at all.

The bank had just opened, and instead of using their ATM, I decided to drop in, and conduct my transaction the way I prefer, with a real person. I am sure glad I did so. The service received was a fine example of 'the' best received at a business during our recent late-May stay in Hope. A friendly welcoming upon entering the facility, friendly, prompt, and cordial service by counter staff, and before leaving, with a senior staff person, attending to the "comings and goings" in the bank that morning. My thanks to everyone. I needed you that morning, and you were there for me.

A full 2 months later (and into the new year), I still had not received anything (I was thinking/hoping they had my email wrong which would help explain and justify why I hadn't heard from them), so I wrote an email to see what was going on. I received an email the next day saying after careful review and consideration they could/would not help me, even though in our consultation I was repeatedly assured this was easy, straightforward, and would not be a problem! Now it's the new year and I'm stuck scrambling to find a new and trusted accountant. Zero stars would be more appropriate but apparently that's not a rating option...
