Would not warranty shrubs that died over winter as promised when I purchased in fall. I will purchase from a business that take care of their customers. My next landscaping project will be with green haven or reputable company. read more

Was very very disappointed with our experience at Coaldale Nurseries. Late Saturday (3 days ago) my young son and I bought a pine tree and let the employee pick it out and load it for us as I have Ankylosing Spondylitis (causing back issues). When my husband unloaded it at home he commented that the tree trunk was pretty crooked at the base. Given the spot we'd selected for it we determined to exchange it as soon as possible (there were plenty of other choices of the same type of pine tree). The day being late we didn't do it that day. We watered it as the day was quite warm. The next day was Sunday and Coaldale Nurseries is closed. The next day (Monday) didn't allow for us to exchange it either as we both work. That brings us to today, Tuesday, when we determined to set out from Lethbridge to Coaldale to make what we thought would be a quick exchange of trees. Even with our receipt showing the recent date of purchase and our explanation (in a reasonable and calm fashion) of the circumstances we were told a firm no. When we finally got to speak with a manager we found him just as stand-offish and unreasonable. Their sign clearly states "No refunds- in store credit only". We weren't even looking for a refund. Just a simple exchange. Or, like their sign said, we thought we could get a store credit and use it towards another one with a straight tree trunk. Real disappointing especially since we go out of our way to support small businesses. Will not be shopping here again unfortunately. read more

Staff are deliberately ignorant and seem to take pleasure in manufacturing negative customer experiences with a level of schadenfreude suggestive of a personality disorder. Do not expect simple answers to basic questions. Staff will block communication with management making it impossible to get questions to someone who knows/cares about the product and making it impossible to communicate the game playing and general disregard exhibited by the staff towards the customers. Simple questions like "Do you carry this type of rose?" is met with "We have no such tags or markings to reference." or "Is this tree on a dwarf, semivigorous or vigorous root stock?" is answered with "root stock has nothing to do with tree size." - which shows either a lack of basic knowledge about horticulture that should be essential to the job or someone who is just too lazy to say "I don't know and but I'll look it up in the directory we keep right beside the phone . . .
