I really appreciate his passion for tennis and he spends a lot of time on and off the court to give his students best classes possible. His rates are so reasonable, plus you learn so much in one lesson! I would recommend calling Fredde. You will not regret!

For full disclosure, I have no financial dealings or incentives to write this glowing review…read more Fredde, a former touring professional, is simply a phenomenal teacher who has been teaching my teenage daughter for three years. I have extensive experience playing and coaching kids in volleyball and Brazilian Jujitsu. My daughter has been taking both private lessons and "playing" in clinics with Fredde. He can take your child's or your tennis game as far as your child/you want to go. Through private lessons, he concentrates on fundamentals and builds a strong foundation for a lifetime of constantly improving and playing fun. Fundamentals are key and Fredde really concentrates on them while making practice still exciting and fun for the kids. Fredde's passion is to teach the game and he truly wants his students to do well. Unfortunately for us, my daughter is quite a mellow kid just wanting to have fun. She does not have the killer instincts to want to excel in tennis. Both the wife and I have remarked how happy we would have been had we had a coach as passionate as Fredde. He would like nothing more than to coach a student who had the drive to want to play professionally. Fredde definitely has the skills and knowledge to take the student there. That being said, he does understand the motives and goals of different clients and is more than willing to work towards those goals. He does have a dry Swedish sense of humor which the parents will appreciate. Overall, Fredde is a great coach who is very motivated to teach kids the game of tennis whose emphasis on strong fundamentals will ensure a solid foundation and lifetime of enjoyment and improvement if the student sticks with it.

Technically, this review is for DP Tennis Academy, which is run at this tennis center…read more Like another reviewer thought, the kids' tennis camps are very much beginner-focused. They even do pickleball, which many tennis players would take issue with, as it involves completely different strokes, techniques, and rules. It also takes place both rain & shine, which is a rare consideration for SoCal, but it did happen to us for winter camp. The kids stay indoors to play games and work on activities, which is fine for general daycare, but...pricey considering the tennis premium. Lastly, the front desk lady is quite sullen and terse, thus making new visitors feel pretty unwelcome. She's plenty pleasant (though equally terse) to regulars. The only positive may be the private lessons that I saw taking place. The level there is obviously better yet, they still seem to be coached by young players themselves (high school/college kids) instead of prior pros who have played at a high level. TLDR: camps are for beginners. Look elsewhere for private instruction or classes for more advanced kids

I came for an event that was being hosted in the restaurant area. Upon check in, Sandy, the front desk associate, was harassing a gentleman about his disability. She was screaming over the desk, telling him to call his attorney when he asked to speak to her manager. It made my whole experience uncomfortable and I would not recommend checking in with Sandy. Don't come here unless you would like to be discriminated against... I have never seen anybody working a service job dare someone disabled to call their attorney... but yesterday I can say I checked that box. Hopefully when/if you find yourself wanting to come here someone pleasant will help you out because she was not it. Once inside the bartenders are nice and the drinks are cheap, the restaurant is clean and the food is good. But the behavior that unfolded in front of me by Sandy at the front desk was vile and that made the food taste not as good.

I had a great experience with a coach who worked for Andrew. She was an excellent instructor, and I…read morelearned a lot from her. I ultimately left the academy, though, because of Andrew's volatility and aggression. He has been repeatedly reported to the city for shouting at members of the public who are using courts he wants, and I've personally witnessed him bullying his instructors -- at times in front of the kids he coaches. In one incident, after speaking dismissively to his mom -- who is a well-liked member of his team -- one of his elementary-age students turned to someone nearby and asked, "Why is he talking to her like that?" I wouldn't feel comfortable leaving children in that environment for lessons. He was also unprofessional with me on multiple occasions. For example, after I was hit in the eye with a tennis ball during one of his instructor's live ball sessions, I temporarily lost clear vision and had to go to urgent care. In the weeks it took me to fully recovery, I did not hear from Andrew. When I returned to live ball after a couple of weeks, I left after the warm-up because I didn't feel well. Although I was initially not charged for that session -- which felt reasonable given the injury and the amount I had already invested in lessons through the academy that year -- I did end up paying. Despite that, I received a series of texts from Andrew blaming me for not paying, and also for the class being disrupted weeks earlier when I was injured and needed help getting to urgent care. That interaction ultimately confirmed my decision to leave. Given the environment, I can't recommend the academy.

Small businesses (heck, ANY businesses) almost never go out of their way to help a customer save…read moremoney. Hard to blame them -- if they see an opportunity, they're gonna' pounce. They're, errrr, businesses. All that makes my experience at V&V even more remarkable. They literally saved me hundreds -- and so earned a customer for life, plus 5 well-deserved Yelp stars. Here goes. My wife and I have recently gotten back into tennis. We played as teens; it's quickly coming back; and our crappy old racquets no longer matched our reasonably good backhands. Our pro recommended V&V and off we went. It's a small shop, actually inside the Laguna Niguel Racquet Club, a little inconvenient but only a little. Selection is surprisingly good given the limited square footage. We were eying a pair of his/hers Yonexs, when incredibly kind staffer (owner? maybe.) politely interjected: "It's a terrific racquet and we just got that new model in. But honestly, they didn't change much but the color. I've got last year's LIGHTLY used demo models over here -- now on sale for $100-per-racquet. There's just no reason to pay full price." It was a 50% discount. Like, real money. And we were so clearly going to buy the more expensive model. They could have made a quick extra hundred, but opted instead to give good advice and be kind. And it didn't end there. When it was clear neither of us had a favorite racquet weight, we were sent off with four demo models and told to bring back the ones we didn't want... whenever we could. We took a lesson the next day and quickly zeroed in on our choices, dropped the others back on way home, picked up a cool pair of Head court shoes while there, and just had an overall excellent experience. Selection, location, store itself all... fine. Service just out of this world, and turns out that makes all the difference.

Stayed here overnight and this hotel does NOT disappoint!…read more I came here a couple years earlier for an overnight stay, just like this trip I went on. Instead on this trip, I had a free room available in my account, which I wanted to redeem before expiring. First of all, the front desk people are very sweet and were very knowledgeable about the hotel and the amenities included. It was also around $35 for overnight parking, which I guess was okay considering I was only staying one night. The parking garage is adjacent to the hotel. Couple of the reasons I came is for the swimming pool and the gym. It seems this is what the hotel revolves around; that and the kid care. Entering into the hotel room, it was super clean and very nice. They have a no-smoking policy in the room, which I love because certain hotels don't have that kind of policy and the rooms smells horrible. When I woke up in the morning, I had a view of the pool and spa. It seemed there was a class in the pool and it looked really fun and I didn't know they had classes. Unfortunately, I didn't have any time to see the gym, but I will my next trip to this hotel. Next time I head to this hotel, I'll have more to review but for now, this is all I have to say. Thank you, Marriott!

They have events for the holidays and socials as well. The workers are all really friendly and remember us every time we come by. The child care services are convenient for us to work out or hang out and get some work done. Our kid loves the staff, except for one person, but all the rest are amazing. The only thing, I wish they had a track or allowed us to run around the building while our kid is at the child care. Treadmills are tough for me. I tried the facial services too and the esthetician was great. She recommended some treatments and it was quite relaxing.
