Staff are nice and friendly, the food is very good as far as Sunday dinners go, but the only thing…read moreto let that down was the lack of meat, terribly skingey with it. Drinks are very pricey too. .Doesn't represent good vfm to be honest.

The worst experience in a restaurant starts with bad food and ends with servers and staff who…read moreclearly do not care about you or your experience and this disappointing pub hits all those buttons and more. Unlike virtually any pub I have ever experienced in the U.K. you have to wait to be seated (as if it is something special!) and immediately you are seated you are asked what you want to drink - slowed her down so that I could look at the menu. Here was a big warning sign and I should have walked out - the menu was a mass produced thing from Marstons (the brewery serving many pubs in the area) and the name of the pub itself never mentioned anywhere. Not heeding the warning I went to the bar to order our food - no we have to wait until served (very quiet afternoon). Go and sit like a good boy and wait. Give our order and in record time the generic tasteless food appears. I expected so much more from a steak and prestige ale pie than what I got. I expected something like any decent pub in England serves - an individual pie, maybe puff pastry and lovingly prepared but what I got was (drum roll) two sorry thin slices of a larger generic pie of sorts fresh out of something (the microwave would be my guess) totally tasteless gravy, tasteless fries and peas. I had to drown everything in pepper to even get it in my mouth and saw another poor customer doing the same. My wife's fish and chips was the worst she has ever had in England - her thought was that it was all cooked in older fat? She also was liberally adding pepper. No one ever came to ask if we were enjoying our meal and we weren't even asked a word when we paid to hurry up and get out of the place. Would I return - absolutely not!

I came here while visiting family who live close by. They swear by the place and although I…read morewouldn't say my experience was mind blowing I can certainly see why they are regulars here. The decor is simple and unobtrusive and the layout is intimate without being cramped. We were served promptly throughout our meal and the food arrived in good time once we had ordered. There was a large group of perhaps 15 or so people also dining while we were there and our waiter made a point of coming to us first and explaining that if we chose from the menu quickly he would ensure that our order made it to the kitchen ahead of the much larger order they were expecting from the other table. This was a nice touch which no doubt saved us from waiting a lot longer for our meals. The food was very good, plenty of flavour and portion size represented good value for money. Menu choices were as you would expect from any Indian restaurant in the UK, there is nothing avantgarde to surprise you but no glaring omissions either. The only other point of note is the place does not have a licence to sell alcohol. If this is a blessing or a curse is a matter of opinion I guess but they have no objection to you bringing in wine/beer/soft drinks of your own to accompany your meal. There is an off licence close by should you arrive empty handed.

Traditional curry house but nicely done and beautifully spiced food with attention to detail. Dining area looks pleasant but we had a take-away, which was a little slow, perhaps they had difficulties that evening, but absolutely ready food was worth the wait.
