The owner, Des, is truly the most wonderful host. He was so very friendly and accommodating for us during our stay at the Coach House. He went so far as to provide us with a ride to town when we wanted to go out to eat for dinner. My husband is on a strict diet due to allergies, and Des was able to provide us with gluten-free toast for breakfast, which was fantastic. The room itself had a wonderful view and was so cute and homey. The whole house is decorated very nicely and has dried flowers all over. This is a very historical home with an abandoned castle on its grounds, which you can explore at your leisure. In the sitting room was a book about the history of the castle and how it came to its current state. It was very interesting and Des was able to provide some additional insight on this matter as well as other local history. I'm from Orange County California and have been to Ireland several times. The Coach house is a great place to stay, one of the best I have been to in Ireland. The setting and views of Waterford are beautiful, the house and furnishings are very nice (lots of antiques), the owner is a great host, breakfast is wonderful and the ruined castle on site is very cool. If you will be in the area definitely stay here, it is worth the money. read more
