There's a good chance Thorne's is the best greengrocer in Cornwall. If there's one with a better range of produce and at better prices, I don't know it. While I'm at it, Penzance is one of the best towns for independent retailers, full stop. I rarely leave Thorne's without giving in to other temptations - bakery, deli, shoe shop (Lou's Shoes is amazing), bookshop, café... shopping in Penzance is enjoyable in a way that used to be the norm, but now, sadly, rarely is.

They do not seem to have as much selection as some stores but they do sell everything you need. There are it seems lots of staff so usually all the tills are open and you never have to queue to long. Its really easy to get to just on the main road into Penzance near the long rock heliport. They also have a petrol station but its across the road from the main car park.

This store has a little to be desired. for a town so dependant on its resources and local produce…read morethe co-op doesnt seem to have enough stock or variety. fair enough morrisons is down by the helipad but for the elderly or young mums/families this is way off the usual bus route so co-op is more the viable option. however it is fairly priced, centrally located and staff are friendly.
