I took my babygirl on November 6 to get spayed...I pick her up around noon..they called me to say…read moreshe is ready to go home...I bought the collar $11.00..so she will not lick the area where surgery was performed....I called them on November 12th..told them something is wrong she has a very crusty white hard substance on the surgery area.U left a message and someone called me the next day..some woman told me it is nothing to worry about sometimes it takes longer to heal... not to worry (NOT TO WORRY) the area is not looking like it healing ..I said she sleeps all the time..the woman said well she is getting older..this lady was rude and short with me..she was not the vet.....then she said take her to your VET !!.that will cost me alot of money..they didn't refer me to any of their vets..BTW she still has thst stupid collar on 10 days !!!!!it hurts me that she has had that collar on her... and she is 4 months old...she was very active playing with her toys all day and playing with her brother...now all she does is sleep...all day and night..she is a kitten!! she didn't sleep all day....she walks right by her brother not wanting to play with him...she was a healthy kitten before I took her to that horrific SANS......I am calling my vet tomorrow she needs to be seen....SANS DOESN'T WANT TO TAKE FULL RESPONSIBILITY ...THAT LADY BLEW ME OFF.....this is a very sad situation...go to get this done with your vet NOT SANS.....they do surgeries like cats on a converter belt..they do not care about your baby..it s just another animal to practice spaying..who knows if they are even licensed to PERFORM surgeries!!!! there needs to be a investigation to what is going on there.....I am going after them...this is my babygirl and she is family...cheap price and half fast job...is what you get here......

We came to Humane CNY over thanksgiving weekend and were able to find a great addition to our…read morehousehold during the waiver adoption fees event they had going on. Financially we were able to give a donation during the holiday season in addition to buying all the essentials to bring our girl home. But it is nice that they have events such as this where families who might not be able to part with all that money up front can take home a new family member, spoil them a little, and hopefully give back throughout the year rather than just paying the adoption fee. I was impressed by how clean the cat room was and how happy the cats seemed. The volunteers didn't seem to know much about the individuals and the lady working at the front desk was a bit brash. I also do love that it is a non kill shelter. The only thing that brought it down to a 4 was just the harsh attitude behind the desk.

I applied to adopt a specific dog from this shelter. Linda let me know that dog was not a good fit,…read moreso I thanked her and let her know to put my application on hold. A week later she called me while I was at work saying she had spoken with my landlord and that my apartment did not allow pets. I was quite confused because I had never heard of the woman she had spoken to, and I had asked her to put my application on hold and was now midway into adopting a dog elsewhere. I tried to calmly get to the bottom of the miscommunication, reminding her that I had sent her written proof of my pet policy over email, and that this was not my landlord she had spoken to. I suggested maybe it was a wrong number, or a new employee at the leasing office. She snapped at me "Would you just be quiet and let me talk!" At this point I told her to withdraw any of my information from her system, and never contact me again. I called my landlord and she said she had never spoken to Linda. This strange miscommunication should never have happened, as I had already requested my application be put on hold. It also could easily have been resolved if Linda had listened to me and conducted herself with professionalism. I am so happy I will be picking up my dog tomorrow from a more professional shelter. For these reasons I can unfortunately not recommend this shelter. But please, adopt (elsewhere) don't shop!

I have not personally adopted thru gerties. But I have delt with Gerties many times. The people…read morethat help run Gerties are great people. They care deeply for the dogs in rescue. They take finding the dogs the best home possible seriously, and make sure it's the best fit for the dog. They are willing to help out anyone when they can. They have helped me with things a few times. One of the volunteers knows I have a dog with issues, she has offered to keep him a few times when I have had surgery or needed to be gone for a longer period, so that he didn't have to go to a kennel. They have thought of my dogs when the rescue has items that they can't use. My 12 year old was having issues getting on the couch, they gave her a set of steps so she could still get up to nap on the couch. They put everything they have into their rescue.

Finnland's Fosters is a wonderful place that takes in cats who have been surrendered, dropped off…read moresomewhere and abandoned and have cared for every one! They get them fixed, if needed, shots , etc and screen adopters to be sure the kitties are going to safe and loving furever homes! The staff is wonderful and so caring of the cats and kittens that are there! They do rely on donations of money, food, litter, etc. to be able to take in more cats. They find foster families to care for mamas and their babies and post pictures of the available cats. I do donate as much as I am able. They truly do an amazing job!! They also have a gift shop to purchase items and that money goes directly to the caring of all the cats. Stop in if you're looking for a kitty to join your family- you will find the perfect one for you!!

I came in recently to adopt a pet. I was pre approved and allowed to play with the kitties and…read moreended up adopting one. (I went to the shelter 2x) I thought the younger volunteers were friendly, but the woman who processes the adoptions (maybe she runs the place) extremely indifferent rude very snarky and difficult to speak with on both encounters I had with her at the shelter. I got the vibe from both her and the animal control officer that my decision to only adopt the female kitten and not the male cat in the community room was litterally going to be the end of the world as I overheard both of them commenting about poor _____ and the loss of his buddy _____ etc. Very passive aggressive behavior and very unprofessional - no matter they gladly took my money and I left with my beautiful kitty. If you see a beautiful cat or dog on their site hold your nose and deal with her bad attitude - My girly is sweet as pie and AND I will find her a buddy elsewhere. P.s. I think they could use a donation of gravel to fix their road and parking lot it's an adventure in potholes that will eat your car.
