Disgusting experience last week from a driver and the company . Friend booked through the app …read more Driver arrived . First he refused to go up hills which would have basically left me stranded in the snow . Second he rammed bags into his boot, to which I said please be careful we have a small animal in a carrier .. he then lifted the bag and tossed it out the car, to which the bag and animals scattered over the road . While he is within his right to refuse animals, the treatment of the property and animals , my friend and myself was disgusting. We phoned to complain . Upon phoning we have been told the driver said he didn't touch any of the property or animals and just refused to take us which was a blatant lie. The woman on the phone said nothing could be done because it's his word against ours . Absolutely disgusting behaviour from the driver and the company . !! Will not be using the service again I would give them 0 stars if I could . It's definitely not a way to run a business!!! And definitely not a driver I would want advocating my business or working for me .

I called half an hour later and I was told that it was near and they would be there soon. After waiting outside in the cold for an hour and a half I called back and said that I had been told three times that the taxi was close and evidently it wasn't. I was told that I was wrong and had not been told this, I had. Three times. Then I said that if they could not tell me when the taxi would be here then I wanted to cancel it. Which, I was told was "easy enough" I am outraged by the service I received and shall never be using this firm again. I have already warned all my friends and family off of them. And as I am a young female they were all incredibly worried as to what could have happened to me while I was waiting on a taxi which was never going to appear.

I usually end up getting TOA taxis because you can flag them down at the last minute. But I can report Southside Cars gave me and my boyfriend amazing service! Their number is displayed within Ikea's exit hall so they are used to doing pick ups which require a bit of lifting. Not only were they efficient but we were lucky enough to get one of the most friendly and entertaining taxi drivers I've had in ages, who was telling us all about his adventures. He also helped me lift my flat packed goodies out to my door, and all for under a tenner! I stay on the north side of the city so I don't usually call this company since they'd have a long way to go. But from what I gather they don't seem to mind travelling for a hire, and seem to jump at the chance of going a fair distance in the car. Really good service that was above par, and the best service I've had from a private taxi company!

As I have Dyspraxia I have trouble with places i don't know well. Having already called 2 other cab companies and been told that we would have to wait a ridiculous length of time, we decided to call this shower of ingrates! when the taxi finally showed up I sat in the front and the chaperone sat in the back. The driver was rude and uncouth. He didn't know where in the blue hell the place was and neither did I. I explained that I'm "special" and that because I have Dyspraxia I have trouble with new places... I had ALREADY explained this twice but clearly this ignoramus didn't understand basic English or he was just an ignorant C. When we came to get out he turned to my chaperone and said "does she need a receipt?" after I had handed him the money... cheeky pig... to his clear astonishment, I piped up "no SHE doesn't need a receipt thank you" and then I added with a snarl "she doesn't appreciate being treated like a child either ********! never ever again!" to which this ignorant prig replied 'what?' this wasn't my first bad experience with this mob and they are without a doubt the worst private cab company in Glasgow. I haven't used them since and I refuse to use them again -- not even in a pinch

One of the first stations to be refurbished, Hillhead now looks like an overly-lit public toilet…read morewith its uniform coverage of large white tiles and really bright fluorescent lighting. There's no attempt at any artistic merit at the platform level; however that is redeemed largely by the fantastic Alasdair Gray mural on the entrance concourse wall. I feel they have missed a trick with the refurbishment by not taking the opportunity to install LED lighting and incorporate more design elements on the platforms. It's hard to maintain the sense of individuality that the stations used to have when they are all bright white tiles. Some design motifs would have helped, and with LED lighting they would not only be more eco-friendly, they could change the mood of the lighting to suit the occasion. The best it can be described as is functional and utilitarian. But I do love the mural upstairs.

For me, the Hillhead subway station is pretty ideal. It has both staffed and self-service ticket…read moresales points and it has plenty of space in the main entrance and six turnstiles for its hundreds of customers - Hillhead is one of the busiest subway stops in the city. It also has that cool Alastair Grey tiled mural and a coffee shop. This stop is especially handy for Byres Road, the Botanic Gardens and the University of Glasgow which goes some way to explaining why its one of the busier stops on the Clockwork Orange. It's definitely a bit crowded at peak times but the regular rate of trains passing through mean that this isn't normally an issue. It has just reopened following works to modernise the subway in (summer 2016). However, since these works were necessary for sections of track at the depot, rather than for the stations themselves, it looks more or less the same as it did before.
