Howard's Club H - Empty beers at Howard's

The bar itself is very fun and very full of personality! There is graffiti and stickers all over…read morethe wall and polls that show a rich history of happy patrons and bands who have had joyous times here! The bar staff were incredibly friendly and very attentive! The only critiques I have are that there are many many tables for watching and not much room for dancing ( or in my case moshing since I visited to see a metal show) which was a bit sad, they do not serve food here which again was a bit sad ( I should have looked up though) BUT!!!!! They do have a popcorn machine so that was a very happy surprise! This bar has good vibes and character!

A Beautifully Filthy Rock & Roll Dive…read more If you love a good, grungy, rock and roll dive bar, Howard's Club H is the place for you. It's got all the essentials: cold beer (only slightly overpriced), bartenders who are usually nice enough, and a smell that can only be described as shame with a hint of stale beer. The bathrooms? Perfectly disgusting, just as they should be in a place like this. The walls are covered in layers of graffiti and stickers, some of it actually pretty interesting if you take the time to look. Live bands crank out music that ranges from surprisingly solid to who let them on stage? But that's part of the charm. This is the kind of bar where you go to lose track of time, drink with strangers who might become friends, and soak in the glorious decay of a true dive. It's not for everyone, but if you appreciate a bar with character, history, and just the right amount of grime, Howard's Club H is a must.

It takes a lot to turn me off. A lot. I've danced and partied at bars and clubs a plenty. The group…read moreI hang with takes partying very seriously and we do it well with a lot of energy. I don't get hung up on dirty bathrooms. Bartenders with attitude are overlooked. We'll party in small bars, even, if the band is good. We all work hard and are willing to spend good money to line up wild times. Hotels, designated-drivers, lots of booze and rock-n roll. But, there is one thing you can do as a club owner that will guarantee me and my group won't blow a large of wad of cash in your establishment. Turn your bouncers into oppressive pricks. The award for the worst experience in all my years of rocking at clubs and venues goes to The Omni in Toledo, Ohio. The place should be a sitdown dinner theater NOT a club hosting metal tribute bands. We'll NEVER be back and not only that, every single person I know that rocks WILL be encouraged to never visit this garbage club. If you like to rock hard, dance hard, and drink hard look elsewhere.

This is a HORRIBLE place! DO NOT GO HERE!! We spent $60 on Robin Trower tickets, and we didn't even…read moreget more than 15 feet in the door when the owner got in my husband's and my face. My husband and I were *literally* pushed around by the owner and two of his lackies. I didn't know who I was supposed to give the tickets to when we entered (as there were no signs, directions, lines, identifiable t-shirts on the staff, etc.), so I asked the first guy sitting at the door. He just said he needed my ID, so I gave that to him and walked a few feet forward. I asked another guy standing up if I was supposed to give him our tickets. He said in a completely dick-ish tone, "What are you--will call??" I said, "No," and started to take a step forward to the next meathead. He and two other guys LITERALLY jumped in front of me, put their hands in my face as if I were going to storm the place or something! (I am a 5'2", professional-looking, young female; in fact, I had just gotten off of work, which is in an office, and was still in my business casual attire. In short, I am the furthest thing from a trouble maker.) So when my husband, who was behind me, saw that I was getting hassled, he said, "All you had to do was ask us for the tickets." He didn't yell or act like a jerk; he just stated that. The owner got in my face and yelled that he was "the owner of this place," and meanwhile, the two meathead bouncers backed my husband almost to the wall and started yelling at him. The owner jumped over to him, as did I, and that's when I put my hand on the owner's chest to try to back him off. We were just like, "Okay, we're leaving. This is complete BS." I am still in shock. Never in my life (or my husband's, for that matter), have we ever been treated so poorly. We go to a lot of shows, but we will never visit this hole EVER again. We wholeheartedly believe in supporting local businesses, but this guy deserves to have the place shut down. Currently, there are several complaints against this place, and I read online that the city is trying to revoke their liquor license. BEWARE, and BOYCOTT!

Yes, it is a Bar and Grill but they also have a sizable outdoor patio area, a large area with pool…read moretables, darts and arcade games. There is also an entire section dedicated to live performances. I visited for the Pop Evil concert and was floored by all of the talent they had lined up before the main event. The drinks are good and the service we received from Kelly (loved her Mohawk) was spot on. They seem to maintain a great line up of live music from the area as well as bands from out state and country. The performance venue is standing room only with a few exceptions near the bar. It feels intimate but it is big enough that you do not feel crowded. The reason I am giving them 4 and not 5 stars is for making us wait in 0 degree weather with a hella cold wind cutting at us as they had to process everyone in. It was very inconsiderate to keep people standing in the elements while one or two guys checked Id's and tickets. Maybe this seems like no big deal but seriously it was f*&^$ing cold out people! My buck 25 ass is not use to it and I dare say even the locals had a difficult time handling the wait and check in process. The place also looked a tad tired and dare I say dingy. I'm not sure I would feel comfortable eating here. That being said I did NOT see their kitchen so this can be an over reach on my part but generally speaking if things are not well maintained up front they are not well maintained in the back. The bartenders and concert line up is the reason I believe most people come here and is why I will be back next time I am in the area. Until then, Rock on with your bad self!

The Broken Glass Goth night has always been amazing, so Paul and his DJ friends that run Broken…read moreGlass are exempt from these comments. However, if with the clique style douche metal they play there, the biggest threat is the head of security [Hispanic, late 40's, heavy set, short black hair] that is always impersonating a cop. My friend was allowed to leave with two highly intoxicated people while the supposed impersonator cop that was head of security told me to shove off or he'd have me arrested. Right after I asked to see this guy's bad, asked for his name and badge number he only said 242 [Gee, give the name of a band right don't you]. The head of security left in a late model orange colored pickup truck. moments later after he left, actual police arrived claiming that I had a gun in the night club. The entire building was closed at the time when the actual police arrived. The one of the DJ's happened to be standing outside next to when the police arrived and vouched for me. What a total joke of an encounter. Do not go here. You couldn't pay me money to even perform at this place as DJ or music project. Oh, and after talking with both Toledo police and the police in my own neighborhood, it turned out the head of security mentioned in this review is not a cop. This head of security should be careful of the person who is sober and is not afraid of some wanna-be.
