I'd give this gym 10 stars if I could!…read more I usually come to the Borgata once a year for work and it's hard to find a local gym with squat racks, good bars, lifting platforms etc - Atilis has that and more. I didn't have to wait for a single piece of equipment. Also, they had dozens & dozens of machines, clean and well-maintained. While I was there they were bringing in several new pieces, including competition-quality benches. Plus it was only $10 for a day pass w/a discount if you paid for a few days in advance. That's perfect for someone who's visiting like me. Locker room was clean, staff was friendly, even the other gym members seemed to be in a good mood. Spoke briefly with the owner and you could tell he's excited about his business. Giant parking lot, clothing, supplements, munchies and sports drinks for sale. Excellent vibe, plus they were cranking 80s metal so I was in heaven. I can't wait to come back.

After moving to Brigantine, we sampled about 5 local studios, and we came to love it here. There are plenty of class offerings, clothes for sale inside the studio, as well as special workshops to change things up from time to time. There are always excellent packages/specials on their website, and Melissa is terrific at responding to your questions/emails. I've come to respect and enjoy all of the teachers at NJ Yoga Zone - they've always made it a point to speak with us personally before or after each class. There is plenty of parking on the side streets of the studio. As with any yoga (or fitness) class, arrive in time to set up, as doors are closed/locked as to not interrupt that very special time. As a regular reviewer, I don't rate a place by its one or two 'grudge' reviews. If you come after a class is in session, have respect and figure out the next step (is there a back entrance? Are you too late?) The Margate area gets very busy in the summer, and if this is a new studio to you, do a little homework so you can come prepared. You'll have a much more beautiful experience.

And, as a student/resident of the town of OC (my family's had a house since I was itty bitty), the cost was a bargain (about the same as the cost of a weekly membership). I've spent most of my time in the Group Fitness classes, and can speak most to those. Both Zumba instructors I've had (Aggie and I think Jen) have been excellent and, despite the room getting VERY crowded, I never felt overwhelmed like I was going to bump into someone. As for other group classes, be sure to BYO-mat for yoga and weight lifting classes, or any class you MAY need a mat for. I had to work on the floor for one, and it was murder on the spine without a mat or a towel. The weights and cardio room upstairs are clean and comfortable, and almost every piece of cardio equipment had a personal TV, which is great when you don't wanna watch whatever CNN/ESPN/ABC that everyone else is watching (I personally love a good episode of SVU while getting my sweat on...) Now and then, there would be a loud CRASH as some wanna-be meathead dropped some weights. I wonder if, since folks know they're not going to be there all the time, they mistreat some of the equipment... Either way, it was frightening occasionally. The locker room was small but very clean, and the pool always looks like a blast, though I've yet to partake in any splashing outside of the ocean this summer. Though the parking lot tends to get pretty packed around peak times, but there's a decent amount of street parking and I always end up going a little early so that I can find a spot.

The place was clean and well kept. There was ample parking but that was probably due to the fact that it was January and not the middle of summer.
