The location is in a strip mall with decent parking. The facility is larger than the OT I frequent in my neighborhood. It's very spacious and there's plenty of room to spread out when doing the floor exercises. I accidentally went to the wrong OT when I had scheduled my session. When I called and told the staff I was going to be late, thankfully the staff at the Uptown location rescheduled me for the last class of the day without issue. Thanks a bunch OT Uptown for being so accommodating!

Will was my instructor and has got to be one of my favorite instructors ever. At first, I thought he was monotone and the class would feel monotonous but as the class went along, his energy pumped up. You could tell he understood the assignment and what OTF is about- 12 spat points minimum for the afterburn if that's what you showed up for and high/bright-orange energy. As someone taking OTF classes just for the occasional extra push to my workouts; I found myself wanting to go back to this studio daily afterwards.

She gave everyone a discount code to try a class free at their studio so I thought I'd give their studio a try. I made an account online and scheduling/ checking out was super easy. They do have a 2hr cancellation policy, after which they will charge you. Price wise, Barre Code is more affordable than its competitors, Barre3 and PureBarre. They have a new member package that is $89 for a month of unlimited classes which I think is superb and you can try a class for free using a discount code. Parking was tough on Harrison and the studio itself is on the second floor so it was a little hard to find. Once inside, the studio was immaculate, clean, and welcoming. The receptionist was very nice and helped me check in. They have spacious bathrooms, a childcare area, lockers, a changing room (which doubles as a mother's room!), and even a nice vanity for freshening up. Towel rental and bottles of water are available for purchase for $1. Kelley was there greeting students and even remembered meeting me. The class itself was great- high energy, challenging, and I'm confident that I will see results. There were around 10 people in my class and my instructor, Marissa, was very down to earth, encouraging, and attentive. There are 3 levels of class difficulty- Barre Code, TBC (total body conditioning), and HIIT. There are also 2 classes on the weekends - HIIT and Barre restore that focus on stretching and recovery.

I was looking for away to stay in shape since I am now pregnant and cannot do some of the more intense running/bootcamp workouts I used to do. After barely moving for a few months, I was feeling super gross and out of shape. While you are taking the class, you wonder if it is actually doing anything- such small movements, little sweat, and light weights! Then you wake up the next day and can't move your legs, and you know, yes, it DEFINITELY is doing something! I have seen some positive changes since I began taking classes- the "Pure Barre Shelf" has started to appear... basically a nice, round, lifted booty! My husband likes that part! :) I have also seen a lot of increased flexibility. Being a runner, my hamstrings were always SUPER tight, and all the stretching done in class definitely helps. The instructors are great and have given me great tips and modifications since I can't do everything... and I've had to make more and more modifications the bigger I get! It's really encouraging to see so many pregnant instructors and people taking the classes, make me feel like I am not alone! Be sure to sign up for classes early online, the prime times fill up quickly! They sell super cute workout clothes, socks (you need grippy socks to take the classes), and other accessories. I just wish they weren't so expensive! The classes themselves are also quite expensive as well. As a registered yoga teacher myself, I have had the opportunity to learn from many instructors over…read morethe years, and Gabriella is one of the most exceptional teachers I have ever encountered. I first met Gabriella at NOLA Yoga Fest, where I attended one of her inversion workshops. I was so impressed by her teaching that I began attending her weekly handstand and inversion classes and have continued to do so consistently ever since. What sets Gabriella apart is her remarkable ability to truly see her students. She can watch someone move for only a few moments and identify exactly what is limiting their progress, what adjustments need to be made, and what specific drills or techniques will help them improve. Her understanding of anatomy, body mechanics, and skill development is extraordinary. She seems to have an endless toolkit of exercises, progressions, and creative approaches that allow every student to work at their own level while continuing to advance. As a teacher, I am especially impressed by her effectiveness. Many instructors can create an enjoyable class. Far fewer can consistently help students make meaningful progress in a complex skill like inversions. Gabriella does. She has an incredible ability to break down difficult movements into understandable steps, and she knows exactly how to challenge each student appropriately. One of the things I appreciate most is that Gabriella expects her students to work. Her classes are not passive, and they are not built around making everyone feel comfortable all the time. They are built around helping people improve. She is not a teacher who babies students, but she is a teacher who invests in them. If you come to class ready to learn, listen, and put in the effort, you will be challenged, supported, and given the tools to grow. Beyond her technical expertise, Gabriella is an incredibly effective communicator. Her verbal cues are precise and easy to understand, her demonstrations are both beautiful and instructive, and she creates an environment that feels focused, encouraging, and empowering. Complex skills that once felt intimidating become accessible under her guidance. I have maintained a dedicated yoga practice for years across Hatha, Vinyasa, and Ashtanga traditions, and Gabriella remains my favorite yoga teacher I have ever studied with. Every class deepens my understanding of movement, and every class leaves me with something new to work on. The progress I have made in my inversion practice is a direct result of her instruction. In a fitness and yoga culture that often prioritizes feeling accomplished over actually developing skill, Gabriella is refreshingly committed to genuine progress. If you have the opportunity to study with her, whether you are brand new to inversions or an experienced practitioner looking to refine your practice, I cannot recommend her highly enough.
