Both types of places generally mean a good value for your money, so I don't get why Yelp categorizes this place as "€€€" when it is more like "€". Appetizers are between €5 and €7, mains are around €8, desserts €4, 1/2 liter of wine €6. We had some of all those things (pastas, cheeses, anchovies, savory flan) while we were there and everything was delicious! It is a bit chaotic and busy, but we would go back again if we are ever in Turin.

Thankfully, our friend made us reservations because there was a line 30 meters long of young people waiting to eat here. So, outside is packed, inside is crazy and even across the street the park is being used as part of the al fresco experience. But, why? Is the food so amazing? I didn't think it was anything mind-blowing. They serve basic food. Rustic, authentic, filling. Lots of potato dishes were on our radar. Gnocchi, roasted potatoes, and other classics. And, the prices were really reasonable for such a popular spot. After two weeks of scoping out the Michelin spots in Italia it was good to get back to some basics.
As busy as it can be.

We decided that we took a leisure walk and hope that the restaurant would have a place for two. Normally, you must make reservations as this is a local treasure and always filled. Well, the staff and "Nona" were so accommodating, they gave us a wonderful table with amazing servers. The food is exactly as described as typical Sardinia food with the touch passion in the food. I had the house special, mussel soup, it co.e on a large plate, enough for two to make a bowl with. Next, the clamp spaghetti..the sauce was so creamy but light and bursting with flavor. The picture below is my dessert.. which, by the way, was just a perfect way to encapsulate the email. OF course, you need a Cafe correcto as an epilougue. We started with the MANTOVA PUMPKIN FLAN WITH SCALLOP AND SHRIMP RAGOUT. It was light and well flavored. The BOLOGNESE TORTELLINI WITH CREAM, HAM AND PEAS was probably my favorite. The MEZZI PACCHERI PASTA WITH CHEESE AND PEPPER CREAM AND LEMON ZEST was a close second. The pasta was cooked perfectly and the sauces were creamy and delicious. Because I felt as if I need some type of protein with the MEZZI paccheri pasta, we also ordered the SLICED BEEF TENDERLOIN WITH AROMATIC HERBS AND BALSAMIC VINEGAR REDUCTION. Everything was so good. I look forward to returning.

The menu is hand written on a piece of paper in Italian but our server (she was fantastic) helped with whatever we could not interpret. The restaurant has a nice patio in the back which we enjoyed during our dinner. We started with a variety of Italian appetizers which were all tasty and authentic to the area. We then split a pasta with Bolognese which was very good. Entrees were hearty and full of flavor. Braised chicken in a mild vinegar sauce and braised pork with potatoes. We also had a half liter of red wine which was nice and a silly good price of 8 Euro. For desserts we had a chocolate torte and a light pana cotta. Both were yummy. As I had mentioned our server was wonderful throughout the evening and even called a taxi for us. Osteria Antiche Sere was a fun and tasty evening. Be sure to get a reservation if you decide to go.
