Walking into the Osteria Antiche Sere is like being transported into a different era, when "slow food" mattered and taste, cleanliness and good service were at the heart of good, honest cuisine. The Osteria is quite difficult to find as it's tucked away on a side street, virtually invisible at night, so do get a taxi! Once inside it's like being in the Turin of the early part of the 20th century (which would be very similar to the France of that period!), basic but spotlessly clean table cloths. The menu is all based around traditional dishes of Turin and the portions are generous too. I recommend the home pasta and the main courses. The antipasti were good, but needed a bit more variety. I am afraid after a three course meal I had no more room for a dessert, so I can't comment but they looked delicious. The wine is very good and reasonably priced for a restaurant and the service delightful. A three course meal with wine and water was around 30 euros per person. read more
