Had a great time seeing the English indie band Bilk here a couple weeks ago.
This show was the 19th of the 20 concerts I saw 2025. It was a good year.
Club Live Evil is quite small, as music venues go, with a great view of the stage from even the back of the room.
That's where I found myself for the support band, Münchner Schule.
Those boys are good. They did a cool cover of Marcy Playground's hit Sex and Candy.
I was hanging out in front of the bar when Münchner Schule finished their set. Their drummer used Bilk's kit so I knew there wouldn't be long between bands.
As the crowd in front of the stage gradually thinned out I noticed a great place to stand just to the left of the stage. I saw that there were only a few people standing about and they were well spaced out.
I made my way over and staked my spot. It was perfect.
I was right about the short break between bands, Just as I was congratulating myself on finding the ideal place to stand, Bilk took the stage.
Right off, guitatist/vocalist Sol Abrahams looks around the club and tells everyone Come on, get closer!
Immediately the crowd, although relatively small in number, somehow managed to muster a surge.
A surge which immediately, totally and irrevocably filled all the empty space around me that I had been luxuriating in for those precious few moments. Should've known it wouldn't last.
Ok, so it was a little crowded but I was right in front of the stage for Bilk's whole set. Crowded, but still a great spot.
And the show was fire.
The sound is excellent and loud AF. Definitely bring ear protection because it was registering in excess of 110 dB the whole show.
It was cool seeing Bilk. I had never heard their music before this show. Always fun to check out new bands.
Live/Evil is a fun place to see a show. I look forward to visiting again. next time I'm in town.
