I am writing this review after attending service several times and subsequently joining. The church celebrated its 20th Anniversary in early May 2012. Many folks, who'd help to build Clovis Hills from the start, came back to make the celebration really special. Plus, the staff gave out dozens and dozens of cookies, to commemorate a tradition started when Clovis Hills was much smaller and able to hand-deliver cookies to 1st Time Guests. As one slogan read on a parade float, "If you hate church, you'll love Clovis Hills Community Church!" Why? Because this is a church for the lost. It's a non-denominational, Christ-centered church. You can come here just as you are...really! Clovis Hills is really a body of people of faith serving the current and next generation. The pastoral staff has a heart for the congregation, with an eye for finding the best way to share the The Word. Pastor Steve Davidson andCo-Pastor Dave Love really love and serve us every week. Plus, their respective 1st Ladies are genuine and nurturing. The music here is contemporary and moving and includes a full band and complement of great singers. There's ample parking, plus front row spots for 1st time guests. They even have coffee available to enjoy during the service. Come as you are and you'll be glad (like me) that you did!

Great place to raise a family in the Lord. There are 3 speaking pastors: Dr. Shawn Beaty, Lead Pastor Dr. Steve Davidson, Pastor and Pastor Scott Hin http://christaprentice.com/chc/wp-content/uploads/2014/05/chc-logo4.png

I haven't in my 10 or so years of going here found a teaching that's not right out of the Bible.

We could immediately tell that the staff here at church are committed to investing in people and building relationships. I'm happy to say that we are now part of the Hello team and hope to make people feel as welcomed as we were. If you're on the fence about committing to a church, I say to come give it a try and let God do the rest. God bless you!

I recently visited Bridge Church. They are walking distance for me after moving into the area, and…read moreI finally got around to going. I had clicked on their website and watched a bit of the Pastor's message for the morning service and was really touched and decided to go to the second service. I arrived and there were a lot of people outside. It was a small crowd, maybe 80 people. In that size church, all the regulars know each other. I'm sure they could tell I was new. Not one person greeted me. Even inside, a guy by the door to the auditorium didn't speak. I had to tell him good morning and reach out to shake hands. An important part of Church for me is worship. The praise team was talented with a lead singer who has a wonderful voice. They sang some nice contemporary songs. Unfortunately for me, there was no section where there was a place for the congregation to sing along in an extended way ( for example, repeating choruses of "You are Holy, etc."). That is the part where I can really lose yourself in worship and be lifted by the spirit. I'll have to keep looking for a Church where that is part of their Worship as this type of thing really blesses me. I want to be part of the Worship, not just listen to songs, even if sung beautifully. I guess that is why there are so many Churches, so different people can get what they need! The Pastor gave a great sermon. I was really drawn to the focus of living the teachings of Christ instead of judging others. Putting the emphasis on love instead of judgement of others. Yes! His Sermon was just the kind of approach to Christianity that I want to be part of. It is sad for me that the other important parts of going to Church were not what I need: Worship and Fellowship. There was no place in the service where we were asked to greet others around us. I found that lacking because one of my reasons for going to Church is Fellowship and Community. Leaving the Church, no one spoke to me. How could my experience have been improved? Add a space for fellowship during the service. Have the congregation look around and greet someone and shake hands. The new attendee in the group will feel seen and welcomed. Have people by the doors greet people coming and going. This provides a welcome. I felt completely invisible there. In a Church this size, everyone knows everyone and they know when there are new people. I grew up in a Church this size and we always knew if people were not regulars in the congregation. You grow the Church by welcoming and including new people, not ignoring them. I will tune in at home to catch the Pastor's sermons from time to time, as he really fed me with spiritual food I really needed. Thanks and God Bless you, Pastor!
