I got a warm welcome from Janina, my therapist, who was lovely and friendly throughout. They use lycon hot wax and the rooms are extremely tidy and clean. Therapists wear gloves and there is no dipping the stick back into the wax. The best thing about the set up is that there is a tv in each room where you'll be lying back and watching Sex and the City episodes while your wax takes place. An amazing distraction from the job at hand! The hot wax was quick, about 20 minutes, very painless and thorough. Best of all, it's a complete steal. Cheapest place I've found in London. She has wonderful bedside manner and chatted with me throughout the entire appointment. She was able to get every single hair and was very thorough (getting a couple of strays with a tweezer). The waxing was pain free and the results of the wax is silky smooth. Lanna Thai, with every therapist I've had, has provided some of the best massages I've ever received. Considering it's right on the edge of London and surrounded by all the chaos and hustle of the city, you feel completely transformed when you leave. From the moment you arrive, they're attentive, kind and calm. Once you're on that table, you genuinely don't have to lift a finger. The place is always warm and clean, and the attention to detail is fantastic. The rooms themselves are simple rather than flashy, which I actually think adds to the traditional feel. Nothing is trying too hard to impress -- the focus is on the massage, and it shows. And the massage technique is incredible. They have extremely strong hands, but more importantly, they actually listen. You tell them what you want, and they respond to your body rather than simply following the same routine every time. If they feel an area of tightness, they'll tell you and work on it. Every massage feels considered and personalised. They offer 3 different types (Swedish, Combo and Thai) but I usually go for the Thai massage because it really gets the knots out of your back.
