Yesterday I went to Clothes Mentor Ocoee again. It wasn't the best day of my life, but the employees welcomed me with warm smiles, which made me feel better. My budget was $50 They have a great variety of clothes that are well organized by color and size. If you're shopping on a limited budget, you can find some nice dresses at affordable prices. The quality of the materials is surprisingly good. You can easily find dresses for under $10. Even though it's a little far from where I live, it's worth the drive. This store never disappoints me. 8.21.2026 I was there today during their frequent dollar days sale. I filled my cart with clearance items and asked for a fitting room. An employee asked how much of my basket was clearance items to which I replied, "all of it." I was denied access to try on any items in my basket because the store indicated a customer with clearance items just clogs up the fitting room and because the value of the items in my basket was less than other shoppers. The store manager also confirmed this practice. I did not see this new policy posted anywhere in the store and was quite surprised that a merchant selling consignment clothing would discriminate against any sale of merchandise. Maybe since I'm in the over 55 crowd they simply thought I couldn't afford the regular priced items. Tell your friends and neighbors to skip shopping here if you're looking for a bargain. You won't be allowed to try it on and there are no returns on clearance. What a ridiculous way to do business. read more

Don't try to sell plus size clothing 3X or 4x or business casual in those sizes. The clerks that do the evaluations make a judgement call on what they think is current fashion. i took some tags off recently purchased items that were never worn and I was told they were "worn". Not the best experience for selling plus size for sure. read more

Offered me $3.50 for 8 items, three new with tags and retail over $50- I would be embarrassed tell a customer that. They also shoved the clothes they didn't take back in my tub, didn't fold them or put them back nicely. So rude. The two women working were also very unfriendly and snobby. I have been stopping here both to shop and sell for years. They are under new ownership in the last few years so some things have changed. They seem to be a lot pickier with what they take and the price they give you seems to be a little lower than what the old owners gave. The store is always clean and well stocked deci-is accurate and the selection, especially with the accessories is excellent depending on who's on duty. The service goes from good to fantastic. My wife and I were visiting the area on vacation from Jacksonville and saw Clothes Mentor on Colonial Drive and decided to go in. Wow; they have a lot of nice clothes, shoes and handbags! The store is very well laid out and easy to find sizes and styles. My wife was in there for two hours (yes wow that's what I said lol) looking and trying on clothes. I was like the walking clothes hanger for her. She said the clothes are from very well know brands for a great price. She was happy which made me happy! * Basically; people bring in their gently used unwanted clothes for consignment. The manger looks and the clothes and decides which ones they can sell and will give them an answer within a few minutes. The manger will then give them money for those clothes they decide to keep. My wife said she loves this shop because they have stores in a lot of other cities and States. The rewards you get from one store can be applied at other stores. read more

I recently visited this location, and I must say, I did not feel welcome. The staff was not inviting at all. I went in to sell as shop. The store is EXTREMELY dusty and needs a deep cleaning. Most of the clothes were very worn and either rip, peeling or faded. Not what I expected especially for the location. I was offered very low prices for my designer items. Sold clothes for my first time today and made out very well. If I didn't have my boys, I would have spent an abundant amount of time there. VERY clean and VERY organized. The sign above the door says "under new management", so don't base everything on older reviews. The owners daughter helped me and she was so sweet, loved seeing a young kiddo learning along side her mom. I will certainly be a repeat customer to sell and hopefully I'll find time to buy soon. read more

While everyone was very kind, albeit you can tell they say the same things several times a day, I left disappointed in trying to sell some of my items. I estimate that what I arrived with to sell was 4 big bags worth of items (some with original prices tags) and I estimate it was in the ballpark of $300 retail. Maybe a little higher. I honestly thought that if I got $50 it'd be a win and I thought they would welcome at least the majority of my items. Some from Bloomingdale's! A Betsy Johnson bag. Some Steve Madden heels. Torrid knee high boots. A nice Nine West laptop bag. However, they do same day service and text you when they are done going through all your items and pricing them. About 90 min later, I get the text to return. You need your drivers license to both drop off and pick up, so don't forget. I go in and the nice lady said "we are ready to buy these items from you" and then shows me one coat and two dresses, including one with a $40 price tag still on it. She says, "we will give you $10 cash or $12 store credit". Ten. Dollars. You guys. For the amount of time it took to clean the clothes, drive there, wait the 90 min just to have them offer $10?! And drive home? My husband said this is the clothes equivalent of a Game Stop; try to exchange a brand new $70 game and they offer $1.50. I'm not mad at the workers - they were all nice. No issue. But for real though. How you gunna do me like that? I bought myself chick-fil-a with my $10 and ate my feelings. Also, what they don't buy from you, you can take back (since it's yours) or they can donate it on your behalf. I was so fed up I just said take it awaaaayyy. I even had a brand new bra with price tag and she said no to that - but accept sports bras. What?! Don't go in with high hopes in selling. However, the store was clean, organized, looked nice and is a great place to look for some cute things. But just don't expect to get a wad of cash. read more

In reading reviews most are about selling. I have not sold here but shop frequently. They have an amazing collection of Lilly Pulitzer at a quarter of the price new and in excellent condition. I also find many new with tags Lululemon athletic and other name brands. This is local and woman owner is always nice to me as well as staff when I call or come in. The shopping experience is very fun and I find good things rather than rummaging thru less desirable resale finds. This may mean it is harder to sell however as a shopper I find that valuable for my time. read more

I was in your store today August 26, 2019. Yes,the sales associate running the desk was very snippy, when I asked her about the new Sushi/Ramen restaurant next door...her reply was " They don't tell me their business" and then proceeded to try and brush over her little snippy remark. Despite the clothes in the store I brought in a bag of clothes to sell and they took one item out. the item still had the tag on it from Nordstrom and the price was $135 dollars. I feel like the negative reviews about this location are from disgruntled sellers who thought their items they wanted to sell were worth more than they were offered. I will say as a person who sells and shops at various Clothes Mentor locations, that the customer service I received today was top notch by both associates working. I am glad they are selective of what they purchase as I found several brand name items today (some new with original tags) at bargain prices. I have been to other Clothes Mentor locations where I can't find anything that doesn't look worn/faded and is mostly off brands I haven't heard of. read more

I would not even give this 1 star. They offered me $19.20 for 5 barely worn Chicos button down shirts. Current in Chicos. I consider taking my shirts back but I just wanted to leave this dump. The clothes they have on the racks look old, worn and like rags. The designer bags are overpriced. I will never set foot in another Clothes Mentor. In other states I have lived in they had great shops. Go to ebay and sell. It is so worth it. If I had not been lazy I would have made more money. PLEASE HEAR ME! Don't bring in clothes and do not buy here. BTW- I have been here with others and each time the staff is so obnoxious and rude. Never again will I waste my valuable time in this store!!! Let me just start with the staff is too busy talking to each other to really care about the customers. They look at you annoyed, they think they are doing you a favor when they are the ones who really make the money .... then they barely give you cash for your items. I did not appreciate the extensive unacceptable wait wither. They do not give you a time frame, they just say "do you want to come back later," No... I just drove her to sell my clothes, I am not hear to hang out, I am here for business. How about instead of having four people standing around talking you restructure to help out everyone who comes in the store with a smile, so it doesn't take an hour to cash someone out. This place has poor service and nobody cares. The ladies talking behind the counter are not friendly at all and just look at you like you are bothering them. For a family business they may want to get a little training in customer service and realize you can't treat people this way and keep a business going. The word will get out and people will make a stand eventually and not go to the store. It is a shame for such a great idea to not be executed properly. What a disappointment. I love this store! I went in looking for a specific look and all of the ladies were very nice and I even got an $98 American Eagle jacket with the tags for $16. I was able to put the whole outfit together with some help and check out with about $35 total. The clothes are all in very good condition which is probably why some people complain about their clothes not getting bought, and they were very cheap so I'm guessing the clothes they did buy they didn't pay much for. read more

I have been selling clothes at this location since their opening, but this past time was the last. I have repeatedly sold them higher-priced items over the years: tory burch, sandro, maje, dolce & gabbana and more. Last time, the manager who has met me no less than a dozen times asked me "have you sold to us before?" Lady, can you not remember the names of your decent sellers?! This past time was the worst. I was only given about $7.00 per item on most clothes, and only $15.00 for a beautiful TB purse that they will easily resell for at least $100. They told me they would give me $168 total, or $210 if I just got store credit. How about a check for $210 instead of robbing me blind?! In the past, I would have made at least $400-$600 on what I brought in, which means their reimbursement rate has gone way down...as evidenced by offering me $40 extra for store credit. Thankfully, I took most of my stuff home and won't be returning again. Obviously, the store does not value good sellers anymore and it will hurt them in the end because the quality of offerings will continue to go downhill. Also, they are no longer taking clothing out of season anymore, which is another pain. Go elsewhere. read more

I've supported this location selling and purchasing items for about two years. Each time I am greeted and spoken to in a very condescending manner. The clothes and shoes are very worn and even dirty. Clothes Mentor claims to sell higher end items, but I see nothing like that. It's definitely gone down hill. I won't be going here at all or recommending to anyone I know. read more

I have been supporting this store since I moved here 3 years ago and I've seen great staff come and go but the worst seems to stay. The attitude of the manager is extremely condescending and I have suspicions that she is not "equitable" in the way she makes offers to "different" women. In the past, when the management staff was more diverse, I sold several designer bags (Gucci, Fendi, Burberry, Tory Burch etc.) and received fair payment for them. I shopped here on a very regular basis over the years and I even bring friends to shop and sell here. Recently, they sent an email asking for designer bags, so I brought one to sell with original tags and dust bag in great condition, and I was made an offer for a designer handbag that was downright offensive. An item for which I had original tags and still had the receipt from Saks; a bag that was originally $675 was treated like it was counterfeit and an offer made of $16. I'm sure another "type" of woman would not have been treated like this. They didn't even ask questions or allow me to produce authenticating proof. So I will no longer be a regular here and if you are reading this, and considering selling designer items, I suggest you take your items to @dechoesresale downtown for a fair price! read more

This place is very hit or miss. Some days I find lots of great stuff, but most days I don't find much at all. A lot of items I've bought seem great and then on closer inspection when I get home, they have a tiny snag or the beginnings of a fallen hem. I don't recommend selling items here. I got together several very nice items which were in excellent condition and all purchased in the past year. They bought a fraction of the items and offered me next to no money. I would be better off taking the tax write off at goodwill. Most of the employees there are very nice, but there is one woman who I believe is a manager, who has very poor customer service. She is not friendly and very socially awkward with customers. read more

This is just based on trying to sell there. Maybe if you have items from Nordstrom or Bloomingdales with the tags still on you might have luck. To be fair I was trying to sell maternity clothes and had over 40 items. I was offered $4.50 for 1 pair of jeans. Some items I had bought less then 9 months ago. It just feels very insulting. I think I wasted more gas just to get there then what I actually was offered. As I was waiting I tried to look around what was near the counter. I felt I'd be better off buying items on sale at a department store, but again I really didn't get to look. Could be some good deals. Overall, highly disappointed with this store. First time coming in today with my mom (who had been before) and I was selling about 50 items (ABOUT 95% of which was the brands they "buy" that was listed on their website.) And they took absolutely nothing. The clothes were barely worn by my mother in the past year and were very much in style for the past two years like they wanted and matched more than half of what they were selling on the racks. They also said they don't take junior sizes and this is a women's clothing store, I get that, but how can you say you won't take juniors items (nice appropriate dresses and blouses) when you are selling them in the store as well?! They also have all these brands like Forever 21, Mossimo, and Rue 21 that they are selling on the racks but they claim not to take those brands. Oh and they don't take anything but "straight leg" pants. Bull crap I saw wide leg pants and skinny jeans on the racks as well. Didn't appreciate the lady telling talking down to me as well acting like I didn't know what I had in the basket. I overheard her talking to other customers about why they weren't taking their clothes and she just came off extremely rude to others. My dad watched her barely go through my basket as well. Barely inspecting anything and just shifting through the clothes very quickly. Waste of time trying to sell here. You may have nice clothes on the racks (SOME are very very very dated and cheap looking though) but your inconsistency is your problem and fashion sense of what's actually in fashion. read more

Today I went and gave Clothes Mentor (off West Colonial) a second try. I first went there when they initially opened, and was disappointed. The staff wasn't very nice - I kept getting dirty looks. I brought in some clothes to sell, and they didn't take any of it. They said they were looking for other brands, which I get. I'm only in my 20s and it's more of an adult clothing store. But I got the feeling there was some judgment against my age too. Fast forward towards today. I went back to sell some clothes for my mom. I went through all the clothes she wanted to sell before hand since I work in retail and sell a lot at Plato's closet (meaning I know what they typically want). I went in there and got the same dirty looks. I felt uncomfortable. The lady at the counter talked down to me like I was stupid and then took my clothes and said come back in 3-4 hours. I thought that was an excessive amount of time to wait, especially since it was maybe at most 10 items that I brought it. I went back later to pick it up and they said they were going to pass on everything!! They claimed it was "too worn." I told her the shoes I brought were brand new and she looked that them and pointed out a tiny piece of string that was coming out of the bottom (they were wicker shoes... that happens). I was to say the least upset. I looked at some of the items they had for sale and they were way more worn looking than what I brought in. I definitely felt that I was being judged for my age, and I really ended up wishing I just had my mom bring in the clothes instead. No one should be judged like that in a retail, no matter what their age. I found stuff that I would've even bought there if they were kinder to me. I ended up losing money since it was a decent drive out for me, and my self-confidence definitely took a small hit. After being a customer here for 10 years, I will never come back again. The women that work here have never had decent customer service skills, but today was the worst of all. I told one of the employees that I would stay in the area while they went through my things, and apparently they made sure of that by watching my every move. Upon returning to the store to collect my items, I was greeted once again by one of the many unpleasant employees who rudely asked if I needed something and if not I could move. I decided to ignore it and moved forward to a different employee to check out and collect my items. She told me that I was not allowed to leave the store unless I went to the sister store "Once Upon a child." I wasn't aware that I was being kept on a leash and was not allowed to go next store to Beall's Outlet or Plato's Closet??? I have never been spoken to with so much disrespect and did not appreciate being reprimanded by the employees of such an average store. They could all greatly benefit from working on not only their customer service skills, but their people skills as well. read more

I have found some great accessories and clothes here! Workers were very helpful when my toddler spilled her drink today. Only waited about 25 min for them to go through the box of clothes I had to sell and there were lots of other people ahead of me. They took some of my name brand items such as gap and american eagle. They had lots of brighton jewelry, kate spade purses, coach purses, and adorable boots and sweaters today. Store is clean and atmosphere is calm. I will definitely be back! I took a large bag of clothes to be sold including three pairs of shoes- two of the pairs have never been worn and they retail for $175 and $100. The third pair has been worn once and retails for $100. Clothes Mentor wanted to pay be $9.00 for each! No thank you! Also, the receipt doesn't itemize how much they are paying you for individual items. I'm curious to know since I just sold a basket full for only $34.00. I realize I could have taken the clothes back home, but my point here is that Clothes Mentor is cheap-as in stingy. I won't bother with Clothes Mentor again. read more

I love this store! The styles are always current and modest enough for my teen, who absolutely loves to find pieces for back to school. I can always count on this location to have what we need. Even when I can't find what I'm looking for the fashion eye of their staff directs me to what I need to make my items pop! And for my little one "Once Upon a Child" is a life saver. Not sure why this place has such bad reviews, but I will say I didn't come here to sell any of my clothes. Stopped in to browse maternity clothes and surprisingly they had a great maternity selection. I was able to buy all the essentials to get me through my first pregnancy here... even found a brand new pair of Sketchers Go Walk shoes (sell for $50-60 new online) for $12. Everything I purchased looks brand new and I'm a pretty picky shopper. I was also shocked at how good the prices were. $7 for a pair of jeans, $5 for shirts, all in great shape - that's a great deal to me! As a bargain shopper, I'm excited to have finally found a local consignment shop with a ton of quality items at an actual decent price! Obviously most of their clothes are non-maternity and it's a really large selection, tons of nice shoes (some priced too high but you have to look around), and a huge selection of purses/handbags/belts/costume jewelry. I decided to give Clothes Mentor another opportunity to change my opinion about them...thinking maybe last time I tok in over 30 New with tags or New without tags and few worn once...all from Tommy Bahama, Banana Republic, Athleta and Ralph Lauren....all EC...and so today I went with 46 items...they purchased 24 for $95. ????That was Highway robbery again...that amounted to approximately $4 per item when most the items had a tag price full retail of over $40. I think this store is doing something shady...because when I walked around I did not se3 any items top quality like what I took in...and this was my 4th and last visit....Maybe the manager is not there...and they are taking advantage or something...but this was absurd...I pulled over otw home to look at the receipt...and list...and almost had a heart attack...NEVER take anything nice there...only old torn junk..bc that is what is on the racks for the most part....and they paid me basically $4. for each item...even a pair go Guess Bruze Boots...NEVER worn ...paper still covering buckles etc...and more that 70 % of the items they took had tags...even a Tommy Bahama Straw hat tag still on ...paid $138. for that and got $4????I may report this company to BBB.....SO upset again....so it was basically a waste of time to go there today...I would have done better to set of a stand on side of road.....They do not even deserve 1 star...but the girl that was at side counter was at least somewhat nice...the lady that sorted my things and basically cheated me was older and NOT so nice...she looked like she was shady to me...Just saying... read more

I guess this place has enough bad reviews but I just have to say as well that my experience was not enjoyable at all. I just have to say that girl that help me at the cashier I think her name was Rebecca and she had such a bad attitude obviously she did not want to be there. She even said to her coworker that she was SO tired, and she wanted to go home and she's been there since 10:00 AM as she was checking me out. (mind you this was not even at 3pm yet) So, she was complaining basically for being at work less than five hours, I wonder how annoyed would she be If is working a real eight hour shift. I don't know if she was annoyed at the fact that I only had one item or what, but the problem is that their stuff is so overpriced for being a consignment store! I might as well just go to a regular store and get new stuff for just a couple dollars more. The store is beautiful and all but it is a nightmare to try to sell something there and obviously the service is so mediocre. They should get their employees trained on what a proper customer service looks like and/or get new personnel. read more
