Very nice and attentive staff and great prices on luxury and high quality clothes. After dealing with the Peoria location's rude staff I decided to take the trip to see what Bloomington's store was like. The drive was definitely worth it. There's a lot more luxury brand variety here as well, and the store is easier to navigate. Coming here from now on for my second-hand luxury buys for sure. read more

I like the clothing selection and found some nice sweaters. However, only one really nice staff person. I might as well have been invisible to the other two. This isn't the first time I've experienced that at this location. Otherwise I'd rate it higher. read more

They don't even deserve any stars. I g ave them a second chance... they took absolutely nothing. My stuff is from Talbots.. Loft etc... some still had original tags... sad that my clothes looked better than what the staff is wearing... NEVER AGAIN. read more

I've ordered several items from this store and upon receiving them, the quality was great. I must admit, not knowing what to expect, I was very pleased. read more

I ordered a handbag online on a Thursday and had it at my home Monday morning. I live in Michigan and didn't expect for it to get here so quickly. The purse was in perfect condition and looked exactly as pictured. My receipt also had a hand written note of Thanks which is extremely rare these days. I will definitely order from this location again. read more

I actually like this store. I just purchased some never worn Sam Edelman Wedge boots for $28 which would've been well more than $100 normally, and 2 Michael Kors key chains as stocking stuffers for $10 each. I really like how they post stuff on their instagram too so you can see new items. The lady working was really nice too, great experience. read more

In theory, this place should be great. They make a big deal out of selling items that are 2 years old or newer. But, whether buying items or trying to sell items, I have been disappointed and go to Goodwill instead. As a buyer, I have found a few, really nice, like new items (that are better brands like Chicos or Talbots). But half of the stuff are brands from Wal-Mart, Target, Kohls, etc. Don't get me wrong, I have and wear items from all of these stores. However, I am not interested in going to a consignment shop to buy used Wal-Mart items. Come on! They claim to not buy these brands, but half of the items on the rack are these very brands. The other thing is that I have tried to sell numerous items - most are unworn or barely worn better brands - Ralph Lauren, Jones New York, Tommy Hilfiger, Talbots, etc. They have offered to buy next to nothing. The only time I got any answer out of them was these aren't within 2 years. Really!?! I bought these items at Macy's last year. I might think it is sour grapes on my part. But, I have heard other people say the exact same thing. I would rather they would relax the 2 year requirement and strictly say no to the Wal-Mart stuff. So, they really lost my business because of all of the low end stuff that they claim to not buy or sell. Whatever.... read more

Super organized , Helpful staff and such a variety of clothing and jewelry & choices from Walmart and target brands all the way to designer items ! Lots of items with the tag still on ! Best place to go since the mall went downhill read more

First time to visit this store, and it was a great experience from the smiling faces when I entered to the patient, friendly service I received while I was checking out. I have visited several Clothes Mentors and this has been the best experience. read more

If you're a shopper, you might have an okay experience. You'll notice what brands they carry, and what condition the clothes are in (some good, some okay) and think "huh, maybe I can make some money by bringing my own clothing in." Unless you are desperate for quick cash, please pick a better resale/consignment store or sell online. Clothes Mentor is awful for selling. Of the things they have accepted from my items, they were over 2 years old and not the nicest of what I had to offer in my bags, so their "2 year cut-off rule" is bogus. They've rejected newer style Burberry, Marc Jacobs, Ralph Lauren, and Kate Spade yet carry Target and Walmart brands. There's no rhyme or reason to what order they go through your stuff, either. You could be waiting for 20 min or 3 hours (not joking) and you may or may not get a text that your stuff is ready. If you have the nerve to do a price breakdown of what they accepted and what each item brought, you'll quickly find that you've basically given a donation to the store. There are better options in Bloomington and especially online. You will get more money by simply posting your items on Facebook or Instagram. read more

No one spoke to my daughter or I as we entered. There was only 1 other customer in the store, and two sales Associates that were talking to each other at the counter, looked them in the eye as I passed.. still nothing. We were ignored, until I had to walk over and grab someone to help. Every person afterward (there were 5) that entered were greeted immediately with a super friendly and warm welcome. Cannot help but to think that since my daughter and I are of African American descent, and every other customer was caucasian, this was the cause? I sincerely hope not, as this is 2019, and the city is very diverse, so it would only make sense that having patrons of different ethnicities would be the norm. I gave it one star because they did have what I was looking for. Customer service was horrible though. read more

Wounder full shop bought something every time. People are very nice. I myself am a designer and love to get new clothes and new ideas always a good time read more

I took clothes in and had to come back later to see what they wanted. I went back and they said they did not want any of them and returned them. When I got home I found 2 t-shirts with wolf pictures on them missing. Apparently they stole them on top of being snotty to deal with. read more

UPDATE: STILL STINGY I've continued shopping here since my 2013 review. Because of their service and attempt to rip me off in my early experiences (and the owner didn't bother to follow up with me for 7 months), it's generally the last place I go looking for what I need, but I still go, because, at the end of the day, it's important for me to shop second hand. After looking countless other places for something I needed, I went again today. I considered amending my 1 star rating because I did actually find the item I needed. However, their customer service and stingy behavior won't sway me to give them two stars. I went to the register to make my purchase and presented them with my loyalty card. I was told the loyalty cards went digital last May and my points were no longer valid. I asked how I would know that I needed to switch them over back then and she said "Facebook, Instagram or email". Well, let's see...I don't give my email to businesses unless I love them and FB has weird formulas where not every post is seen by the intended audience. So, I checked their instagram which I follow very regularly. I scrolled all the way back to when I was told this changed and saw no post indicating such. I have loyalty cards to every second hand and thrift shop in town. I've never had points revoked anywhere else. I no longer have a need for a loyalty card here, because that's it. I won't go back. read more

If it was possible it would be given zero. My girlfriend loved to shop here and was always aaked by the employees to bring in clothes to sell. She finally caved to make room and was told it would be a 1 hour wait for appraisal. That turned into 3.5 almost 4 hours of waiting. For no reason with an empty store. Then when she brought the clothes in they tried to tell her her clothes her that were all labeled in women's sizes were youth clothing and tried to tell her they were worth bare minimum. I understand keep your margin but don't blatantly lie to a person's face to try and get them to fold. Disgusted by this experience and the lies. read more

I decided to stop by this store on a Sunday before I was meeting family in town. I'm not local to Bloomington so I was driving in from an hour and a half away. I got there about 20 minutes before they were closing and asked if they could look at the 10 or 15 high end designer items I brought to sell. The woman was very polite and spoke in a pleasant tone and smiled when talking to me. She asked me to sign in but then told me that I was too late for them to look at my items that day. She offered for me to pick them up within 3 days but I told her I came from very far and would not be able to return. I told her that my items were designer and most with tags such as DVF, Ralph Lauren Black Label, Lilly Pulitzer and some more common stuff from Talbots. I expected her to make an exception since I doubt DVF items come into their store with any regularity. But she wouldn't. As someone who worked in a consignment store for 2 years, I can pretty confidently say that she could have looked at my 15 pieces and made me an offer and it wouldn't have made the store close late. My interaction also makes me aware that this store does not actually care about their customers. I didn't feel valued as a customer and I don't feel that there is any reason to visit this store over other women's resale shops. So, the 2 times a year I am in Bloomington, I won't be returning here. read more

Underwhelmed to say the least. This location is really small and it was crowded. Racks are packed and it's easy to knock stuff to floor when you're trying to look. What really irked me? I walked in with a tub of clothes to sell and I waited at the counter for 5 minutes before anyone even acknowledged me, but I know that at least 3 employees saw me and weren't busy. Finally someone came over and told me it would be about 20 minutes to go through my stuff. When I came back, they only chose 8 out of the 40 or so items I brought, which is fine, but I really don't understand their buying process at all. The things they bought were the oldest and what I just threw in there on a whim hoping they may buy. I mean, Daisy Fuentes dress pants that were 5 years old and a New York and Co blouse that I bought back in 2006. I said, huh, and took my 35 dollars and left. Their prices aren't bad but honestly I'd rather just go thrifting at my local Salvation Army and find nice Ann Taylor dress pants for .49 than go and pay $18 for them. read more
