Awful place to take clothing to be altered. I wanted to "shop local" and take my item here but when I walked in, I should have went with my gut. It is a horribly packed shop, with filthy carpeting and just total disarray. I should have left then.... but I thought "maybe they will do a good job anyway". So I had my formal dress "fitted" and hemmed. They told me a week and when I called to check on the dress a week later, they couldn't find it. They had no idea where it was... so I told them I was coming down to find it. When I got there, they found it and I tried it on. The hem was fine. The bodice was HORRIBLE. It didn't fit and they said "it looks good". I just took it off and took it home with me instead of making a scene. The alterations on the bodice were terribly done and the only thing I'm happy about was that they didn't even cut the fabric to get it done, so I could tear it all out and had to have my mother help me via FaceTime to get it where I can use it. Luckily, I can sew... and my alterations were better than theirs and they do it for a living. They almost ruined my dress... I certainly couldn't wear it the way they had altered it. read more
