For a smaller town thrift store... This Goodwill is okay…read more I stopped in here on this past Saturday afternoon while in Marshalltown for a completely different reason v. thrifting. But when in Rome...! The parking right by the location is a little limited, but the building is basically adjacent to a Walmart so there is a ton of nearby parking. The store itself is dated, you can tell it's older, but it seemed to be clean enough during my visit. The modern water bottle filling station towards the rear of the store was a nice surprise...though it almost seemed out of place. Lol I snagged a piece of glassware that caught my eye off one of the fixtures. There were two staff members at the registers and they were being pretty efficient at checking people out. The short lines went fast. This location is probably better for a person looking for clothes than someone hunting for kitchenware or any kind of a hard good. Though I will say they had a lot of seasonal/holiday decorations... One big pro... The Goodwill was actually open during their posted hours. Unlike the local Salvation Army... No idea why the SA store was already closed at 300 PM on a Saturday afternoon... No explanation. No signs. Just closed.

The staff informed us that this is the original location, so it's the smallest of the three in town, but there was so much to look at! I can't wait to check out the larger locations! All of the staff were incredibly friendly, patient, and helpful. Everything was pretty well organized and not too overwhelming. There is definitely a lot inside, but in my opinion, you don't feel crowded and can easily look around for hours in here. All of the prices are wonderful as well! Everything is so affordable as well, and in great condition; some items are even brand new! Overflow beats Goodwill any day of the week! It's a relaxed environment and they give back to the community; win-win! Anything we need to donate will be donated here from now on :) Absolutely worth the visit!!

Always kind staff…read more Prices are getting unrealistic again. There are many quality items nicely displayed. However there is also over priced junk that for some reason is never pulled from the shelves. Beware of items labeled "vintage" they are most likely overpriced. If you like it, you can buy it on eBay for the same price or less and even return it if you don't like it.
