I "inherited" a 1969 grandfather clock from my parents, as my dad passed away in 2014 and most recently, my mom in July of 2024. My dad was stationed in Germany before I was born and brought this back to the states and it has been in the family ever since. After some not-so-tlc, and some transport in between residences it was beginning to deteriorate. It was still working until one day I pulled on the chain for the Westminster chimes and that got stuck. The cock was still working, but it wasn't chiming. Then my mom pulled too hard on the chain that controls the pendulum. Then that stopped working. After a move in 2023, it just sat, as decoration, in my mom's apartment. After she passed away, I moved it to storage. Fast forward to Feb of this year, I had some time off of work and decided that I should look into getting the clock fixed. I took the clock out of storage and brought it back to my house. Mag wasn't my first choice as I didn't see his business after a limited search. The first place I was going to take it to was actually closed. I actually then clicked on Yelp's Top 10 clock repair and Mag's business appeared. I called him, and to my surprise, he was able to come in a few hours. So, for him to be mobile, instead of me having to transport it, and possibly damaging it some more, was great. He came over and went to work right away. He definitely knew what he was doing and got to fixing the overextended chains. Then he took the time to lubricate/oil the mechanism that runs the clock. He did notice that it was in bad shape, though. The face wasn't sitting flush, the motor for the Westminster Chime wasn't working properly. There really wasn't much he could do, without rebuilding the clock. But, he got it working to where it is working to my satisfaction. He said the clock, in perfect condition, isn't really worth anything. So I saw it pointless to do any major repair to it. I guess it is just more of a sentimental piece. I'm writing this about 45 minutes after he left and so far so good. I also had him look at another table clock, as a chime was out of place. But, he said it was broken and the only value it added was that it was a third note the clock would chime with at the top of each hour, instead of 2 notes. And I was also wiling to pay for some lubrication of the motor and he said it really didn't need it and he didn't want to damage it. He charges a $100 fee for coming to your place. It was well worth it and I would definitely recommend.

I called Clockcraft last Thursday, March 13, 2025, because my grandfather clock stopped working. Mag came over and oiled my clock and now it's back to working. This guy is Great and knows clocks.

I have a Howard Miller grandfather clock that is 33 years old. Spoke to Mag, he is quite knowledgeable and detailed. I explained my clock's issue to Mag and he gave me thorough answers on the phone. I live 60 miles from Vegas. I could not find any clock repair any close. Long story short, Mag allow me to bring my clock to him and gave me complete instructions on how to pack my clock to properly move not to damage any of the sensitive parts. Mag was very kind & provided excellent customer service as well as as complete servicing of my 3 plus decades old grandfather clock. I highly recommend Clockcraft & Mag was worth my time & effort to drive my clock over to Mag's location. I'm so pleased to have my clock back together & serviced properly.

We have had a clock in the family since the 1970s, and it dates back to the 1930s in Germany. We called the owner, Mag, and he came right out to our home with mask on face, tools in hand, and quickly identified what issues needed to be addressed to get it running. He took our clock to his home, ordered parts and got it running perfectly for the first time in 40+ years, then delivered and hung it for us!

My retirement gift from AT&T, so it's very special.

I have a regulator clock that was gifted to my parents around 40 years ago. My mom has wound it…read moreregularly every week for those 40 years. Then one day the spring sprung. It would only go two turns and spring back. Clocks like this don't work well when you can't wind them. So I brought it back from her to try and get it repaired. I went to one shop on Main Street in the Arts District. Nice shop and friendly owner but the price was way higher than we really wanted to pay. So I found Clocks and Locks and took it in for a quote. I was asked to leave the clock and was asked to call on Monday for the quote. Whoops, I forgot to call until Thursday almost a week later. No matter. I called and gave them my name and ticket number. I was given a quote of about half as much as the first place I tried. It was still a lot of money but much better. I agreed to the price and was told it would be about a two week job. This included taking the clock apart, cleaning the gears, replacing the bad spring, replacing the key hole cylinder that had become warped over the years from hundreds of windings. Then putting it all back together. I called a couple of weeks later to find out that my clock was now ready. When I picked it up, the owner advise me that I should have it serviced at least every 2 years to keep it working. If I do, great. I'll keep on top of it. If not then hopefully I can get another 40 years out of it. By then I should be too old to care.

Great service! Came to the house to fix my father's grandfather clock. Very knowledgeable.read more
