My experience dealing with The Clock Shop and Mr Williams is not a very pleasant one. August 21 2012 I went into the shop to have a chain fixed. The lady that dealt with me I presumed was his wife. I asked how much to repair the chain, £18.50 she said. I said that seemed expensive she told me that they send them away to be mended. She doubled checked with Mr Williams, "don't be daft woman it's £9.50 for the repair. I had intended to have my Gold gate bracelet repaired too but decided not. She told me it would take two weeks due to the Bank Holiday. I called in two weeks later no sign of my necklace, 4 days later called in again still no sign. I eventually had my necklace 3 weeks, the woman got the package and took out my necklace and just swirled it around her hands to show it had been done. Silly me not checking it before I left the shop. When I got to my sisters and checked my necklace I realised it was not mine, this chain was a flat curb chain and mine was more rounded and heavier. I got quite upset and the chain went with a cross that an ex boyfriend had bought for me 40 years ago. Due to the time I no alternative but to go home and contact the shop the following day. I spoke with Mr Williams and said that he never had any more chain repaired of 24 inch that day, I explained that mine was heavier and more rounded. He said he does not mistakes with jewellery. Conversation ended. " mins later my phone went it was Mr Williams telling me he had found another chain which was 24 inche but in Rose Gold, I said mine was not rose gold , His answer was " WELL COME AND HAVE A LOOK IT MAY NOT BE YOURS AND THE Woman WON'T KNOW ANY DIFFERENCE, A GOLD CHAIN IS A GOLD CHAIN! Totally shocked but I still wan ted to check to see if this was mine. I drove to Porthcawl which is 30 mins away from me, Mr williams was outside the shop. He showed me the necklace and he was quite prepared to give it to me. The Chain was a very large Curb design and looked special, I said that it was not mine. Oh well thats all I have, the one in your hand is yours. Still angry I left the shop. When I got home It never occurred to me to measure the chain. It was 26 inch went back to shop, spoke with him. He was aggresive and totally rude, I said it was 26 inch chain and not 24 that he had given back to me. BRING IT BACK AND I'LL CUT TWO INCHES OFF IT. Sue the shop assitant was helpful and tried telling him that she had measured it. To me it all seemed to have happended before. I have no proof as such as to what design or weight. I have no looks on the chain and everytime I have tried to wear it I get upset. My advice dont trust anyone!!! especially The Clock Shop. read more
