They allow makeup classes if you have to miss and let them know. We can see regular progress with each skill. It is impossible to teach them to be safe without getting their heads in the water. No goggles are allowed during lessons, this is for safety. All students must be able to open their eyes and determine which way is up. Each lesson consists of 25 minutes of instruction and five minutes of “free time.” However, if your student is having a difficult day they may work the full entire 30 minutes. Please remember much of what we teach your child will be learning for the first time. Some kids struggle with one or more of the safety elements, but teaching and practicing that skill each day is very important to help them overcome their fear and help keep them safe. Your child may be very uncomfortable putting their face in the water but it is our job to help overcome those fears. It can be very difficult for parents to watch their child be scared, but please remember we are here to help your child become safe and have FUN! Swimming is a great activity for all kids to enjoy, and I want all of my students to enjoy it by being safe. All teachers have CPR training.

It's not just upsetting to them but as a parent it causes unnecessary stress. If they aren't providing the same services as other locations then they should be offering their classes at a discount.
