I have had my hair done at Clipper Corner many times and they have always been friendly and caring. Prices are very fair.

Very rude and not friendly people. A lot of people I know have had their hair messed up by this place

Nova Salon - Wonderful experience! Irina did an amazing job with this balayage. Loved how it turned out, and she was so friendly and welcoming!

It'd been a loooong time since my last haircut. In my extensive search to find the best place to…read moreget my locks trimmed in Iowa City, I stumbled upon Nova Salon. I didn't have a specific stylist in mind, so I was matched up with Irina. I believe I called on a Wednesday and was able to get an appointment for a few days later. I was Irina's last appointment on a Saturday afternoon, but you never would have known. She was very friendly, listened to what I had to say, and gave lots of great advice. I left with the exact haircut I asked for. Have I been able to style it the way Irina did? Heck no. That requires talent I simply don't have. Irina taught me a lot about my hair - what to do with the random grays that make an appearance, the type of hair I have, etc. Seriously, what she taught me was totally worth the price paid; aside from the actual haircut itself. The salon is super clean and inviting. Lots of natural light, especially at Irina's station because of where she's located. They do sell hair products including Amika (which I personally like). I had no idea how much it was going to cost (around $75 with tip) for a women's cut, as prices aren't posted online. I suppose I could have asked when I scheduled my appointment, but it didn't really matter to me. I'm someone who gets her haircut 1x per year. Recommend. I'll definitely make a return visit.
