While traversing one of America's longest roads, stopping by Bearden's Blossom Bowls was a high priority! That's because, according to crowd-sourced reviews, this is the top-rated açaí spot along the entire length of this nearly 2,400-mile highway! And yes, it lives up to the hype! I started a humid morning in East Tennessee with a refreshing açaí bowl here. Very professional and assiduous employees greeted me as I entered the store. And although I was just passing through Knoxville, don't think that one of America's most accomplished road trippers is unfamiliar with Vol Country. Although I live elsewhere, UT is my alma mater, I graduated from West High School half a mile away, and my childhood home is only 1,600 feet from Blossom Bowls. So yes, this is home. And while açaí cafés only existed in Brazil the last time I lived here, nonexistent in the U.S. before 2011, I was back home to celebrate one of Bearden's modern adaptations to the culinary scene. Amidst all the reminiscing as I stared out the window toward my old Sequoyah Hills neighborhood, I was enjoying what could be the best açaí bowl I've ever had! All açaí bowls should be judged, above all else, based on the quality of the smoothie base and the granola. The toppings are vital but secondary. And the base of these açaí bowls at Blossom is phenomenal, very flavorful and perfectly textured. But the granola is the star of the show here, chewy with a stunningly good flavor that actually shines above that tangy base! And I also thoroughly enjoyed the copious amounts of fresh fruit carefully decorating the top. Don't miss the bee pollen, a uniquely delicious addition to any bowl! Patrons select six choices from a thorough list of toppings with tremendous variety. And honestly, the mini size is incredibly filling for an affordable price.

The marble mango slushie with rainbow jelly was very refreshing on a very hot July day. I try to reduce the sugar whenever I order so I asked for no sugar. The owner said I really needed more for this particular drink so I said 25%. Somehow she convinced me that I needed at least 50% sugar. The drink was good and I liked the swirl of (I'm guessing here) condensed milk? The place is very Instagrammable with cute decor.

I ordered a Marble Strawberry drink with strawberry popping boba jellies. They provide an order number and took about 5-10 min in the kitchen to bring the drink out and call our number. I will admit that this drink was not what I expected. I thought it would be a strawberry milk tea swirled with milk foam or whipped cream. Nope. It was like a frozen strawberry slushy. It tasted a bit like a (strawberry) creamsicle. My daughter drank the majority of this drink and loved it. I, personally, would not get it again, as I am partial to milk tea at boba shops. I may try their brown sugar or coffee varieties next time I stop in. Don't forget that they also serve savory Banh mi sandwiches. Friendly service and a nice spot to meet a friend. So...Overall a 3.5/5 for me, will be back to try one more smoothie. :) I went at lunch hour and admired the worker that took 5 orders, processed payment and then kicked butt in the kitchen to get smoothies, sandwiches and treats going. She really needed more help. I ordered a smoothie and toast combo just to try something other than the bowl to start. The smoothie itself was alright; seemed like it was missing an element of sweetness? The avocado toast was just OK; it was left a tad too long in the toaster. Was still fairly edible, but with a lot of the cheese moved off. The inside was clean and looked like a spot where folks would catch a selfie - I think I'm too old to be that cool, no cap. SYOY!
