I live right round the corner and in an effort to put some cash into local businesses decided to come here. They were really helpful and at £30ish for 4 sets of 5 balloons, weights and ribbon i didn't think that was half bad! They were very kind and bundled them up into bags for me so i could squeeeeeze them in my little ford ka (called fiona!) My boss was dead happy them being in the company colors, with myself and several of the bar staff greatly enjoying singing 'follow the yellow brick road' after the party had ended using the balloons...never to old! This shop sells so much, various cards, balloons from all colors of the rainbow to birthday cake supplies, hen parties, banners, bubbles and more. Great little local party shop and i'll def use them again. Two thumbs up!

In the Card Factory you can get pretty much the exact same card for a mere 59p!! This particular store is located in the centre of Broadmead. It is a small shop and they sure do cram a lot inside. It is constantly rammed packed too so you will find yourself breathing in tightly to squeeze past customers. There also isn't any real place to queue up so customers end up queuing next to the card displays which again causes a lot of deep sighs and mutters under their breathes from the other shoppers. Product wise, the Card Factory has an impressive range of sensible, flowery cards to rude and humorous ones. They also have a selection of gifts such as photo frames etc. It's so much better than Clinton's down the road and I reckon the quality of cards is just as high but at a 10th of the price. Note:- they accept credit cards, but your bill must come to over £5 so make sure you have some cash on you. Also be prepared for long queues at all times, especially in the run up to special events EG. Valentines day, Mother's day, Christmas etc.

There is an excellent range of Smiffy costumery here however so if you're stuck to wear something for a fancy dress party and you're not particularly inspired to come up with your own outfit, you'll surely find something here to do the trip. Not to be distracted by the name they mostly sell fruit and vegetables. One of the more traditional places these guys sell what's in stock at the right time of year. This may seem standard but in the age of the supermarket where, for instance, there are no seasons it feels good to be eating naturally. I've always been happy with the fruit here - not too ripe and squishy, never unripe. With many changing deals and a pleasant and chatty handful of staff, this makes a refreshing alternative to the much larger megaliths down the road.
