We arrived at 11 and called the reception and was told to wait outside while they are opening a file for one of our dogs. We were at the door when we were asked to step aside because a customer (which is white - I'm mentioning the race since it's relevant to this review) arrived and needed to pick up medicine which is fine that she gets to be served before us since she was only picking up medication. We ended up waiting for an hour outside so we called again and we were told that we were late (the lady never mention that they will not see us anymore and made us wait outside for few more minutes) and then something distasteful happened, a white couple arrived in their fancy car and they did not only get to be served first, the employee actually went outside to assist them ( a courtesy that they didn't give us) and bring the couple's dog inside first. I would have tolerated it if it was only me waiting but we had our two dogs with us and they were getting overheated waiting outside. This place is utterly repugnant. It treated us like a second class citizen so If you are a person of colour avoid this place at all cost for the sake of both your dignity and your pets' well-being but if you are white by all means go to this place because you will be treated like a royal and they will cater to your every whims.

The assistant was just amazing! She was unable to order 1 dosage of the brand I wanted, so instead she was able to obtain it from another clinic for me. She made her enquiries and called me back all within the hour! Dr. Cushman and I had a conversation regarding the Lepto vaccine and its necessity for my dog. I was very pleased to learn that she is not a Vet who either scares you or pushes you into over-vaccinating. Instead, she gives you the information you need to make an informed decision for yourself. The exam room is nice, I enjoy the tall chairs which allow for an owner to sit and still be close to their animal. The tech left us after taking my cat's temperature, and we sat in the exam room for a good 40 minutes before the vet came in, and she apologized and explained that she was going over his files from our previous vet, so I was very happy that she wanted a thorough understanding of him. The reception remembers Beanie every time he comes in as a kitten would give him cuddles before his appointment time! Bo just got neutered last week and the vets were, again, immaculate. I can't stress how wonderful the level of care is here. Reception is also spot on and the techs always call and are extremely supportive and informative. I live downtown but always take an Uber to this clinic. It's worth the extra time and money.

Finally land someone on the phone a week later, make a Saturday morning appointment specifying that I need to be somewhere by noon. Appointment time of 10:40 not respected. Multiple people with 11;00 appointments for both cats and dogs seen first, walk ins seen first (non emergency) I had to leave after an hour of waiting with my pets still not treated. I had to leave my pets to have their booster shots and send a friend to pick them up, not be able to complete 2/3 of the appointment as I am not there to be shown how to trim their nails (the only reason I was waiting to clip them) nor ask for the vet's investigation of a certain coughing/sneezing behavior that's been repeating (kept video of the incidents) nor provide any in person information relevant to their check ups and other issues with their diet. At no point did the staff advise us of any anticipated delay as we say there for an hour. The service has drastically changed since I last used their services and I will be looking elsewhere for my pets' needs.

To be honest, I've never met a vet I didn't like, but Dr. James Rassi at the LaSalle Vet Clinic goes above and beyond. I took one of my cats recently who had some blood in her urine for an x-ray. When I entered the room with the x-ray scan on display, the technician was still in the room. I took advantage to ask her if the scans appeared normal. She said something to the effect of "well looks like she has some stones..." This freaked me out as I was terrified of my cat having bladder stones and needing an expensive & risky surgery. A minute later, Dr. Rassi walks in smiling. To be clear, he was wearing a mask, but his delight was visible regardless. In my panicked state, I snapped, "why do you look so happy... she has stones!" He quickly reassured me that in fact it was only kidney stones, something quite common with mature cats. No surgery would be needed, and she'll be fine with some additional vet food. After realizing my mistake and absorbing the good news, I was so thrilled that I could have hugged him. As mentioned earlier, I've had great vets for decades, but none quite as passionate and kind as Dr. Rassi. He is truly one of a kind and your pet would be lucky to be in his care.

Will definitely be comin back here for all our pet needs. We called first. I asked questions regarding starting a new file fee (0$), consultation fee (65$ per visit), and how many vets they had (3...with a 4th on maternity leave until October). I explained we had heard bad things about the owner lady vet (as per other reviews) and preferred to have a different vet than her: no problem we were told and not the slightest hint of attitude or anything. That was impressive! And a good sign. After discussing and deciding we would take a chance with this place...we called back and got an appointment for within less than an hour with Dr. Teresa Sweet (it seemed like a pretty good omen). The place is close to us, so we had a nice walk over. Entered the super clean, well organized, tiny clinic and were greeted and sat to wait. There's help urself coffee and coloring books for the kiddos. The products are surprisingly decently priced for a vet's clinic. (Ex 63$ for a super quality hypoallergenic large bag of dog chow is totally reasonable!) We were called shortly after our arrival and the technician Isabelle was absolutely fantastic with Irie. She saw Irie was nervous so right away asked us if it was ok to give her a treat...that gained points with both Irie and us! She was friendly and helpful and explained so much to us, helping us feel better that we are not to blame for poor Irie's allergies n ear infection. She also patiently showed us how to clean her ears and made sure we felt comfortable doing it ourselves. Then we met with Dr. Sweet...Irie's new vet. She was just perfect! Young but knowledgeable and so super caring and thorough! She examined Irie with tenderness and was exactly as her name: sweet, the whole time. They had many, many, many opportunities to price gauge us ...but they didn't, not once. They even asked if we wanted to pay for the infectious material to be tested or just blindly give Irie a med which may or may not treat the infection (we obviously paid to have it tested being that Irie is so sensitive to meds!). We'll be back in two weeks for a follow up and are so appreciatively happy to have found these wonderful people to care for our pets!!!
