I shouldn't have to write a review to be able to find out what has
happened to my dead puppy's body. Please contact me, I had a horrible experience, I am completely traumatized and disgusted with the level of unprofessionalism and greed of this veterinarian. I had brought my 9-week old husky puppy there, who needed to be put down after choking on a treat on June 1, 2021, heartbroken, we put our baby Gracie, down. We dealt with Dr. Maud Leleur at the DVM, in the Lachine centre. We paid for her treatment. and to have her put down and disposed of her body in a respectful matter. Today Saturday, June 26, 2021, my husband receives a voice mail from this clinic 25 days later, asking what to do with our dead puppy's body. I cannot explain the shock and horror we feel. As we were both there, when they put Gracie, down, my husband held her in his arms while we both cried, we were assured that her body would be disposed of by being turn into water and sprayed over a forest, which brought us comfort, that her death might help something else live. We have tried to reach the clinic numerous times today to no avail to find out what is going on. We hope this was a mistake on their part. This experience has left me completely disgusted and mortify with this veterinarian's behaviour and disregard.
I don't want to believe that this vet is still trying to extort us for cash 25 days after our puppy is dead but this matches our experience with her. From the time she, got our credit card number, she was only interested in what they could bill us for and showed no care or interest in my puppy Gracie's well-being. As I previously mentioned, my puppy choked on a puppy treat, I was able to remove it and do CPR to bring her back to Consciousness. But notice, she was struggling to breathe, so we rush to this vet who was the only vet open. I told the vet, what had happened, 3 hours later of hearing nothing from this vet, was when I threaten to take my dog to our vet in the morning as something didn't feel right to me. At that time we were made aware of the fact that my puppy had saliva or blood in her lungs and couldn't breathe. Since she was so young that she would probably die, as her lungs were not developed, even why my puppy was dying and she knew it she was still trying to get more money out of us. She should have told us this immediately instead she chose to make us wait 3 hours in our car, as she was only interested in billing us while our puppy struggled for air. The only reason we found out this information was that I trusted my gut and insisted on getting my puppy back. At that point, she told us that we should put her down.
I was on the fence about writing a review about this as it's extremely painful and still a very fresh wound in our family. Until they contacted my husband, today, June 26, 2021, 25 days after they were supposed to have disposed of the body of our dead puppy, they asked us what to do with the body. First of all who would leave a message like that on somebody's voice mail on Saturday. Why hadn't this been taken care of immediately after we left, when we put her down which was our understanding on June 1, 2021? Why did it take 25 days to contact us? That's when I knew that I had to warn others about this Veterinarian. Your action and carelessness have caused my family a tremendous amount of unnecessary pain and harm. You should be ashamed of yourself. Since I cannot get a hold of you please contact me directly to let me know what is going on. It is truly shameful that the only way I can get any information from you is to write a google review. If you love your pets please don't go here, I am crying as I write this review knowing my puppy suffered because of this vet, please don't bring your pets here.
