I and other people had a very disappointing experience at this so called clinic From the moment I arrived, the staff was dismissive and unprofessional. The front staff do not have any empathy for anyone and do not know how to treat with the "basic" courtesy or respect that every patient deserves. Customer service is completely lacking. You're made to feel like an inconvenience instead of a patient seeking help. If you don't like your job, that's one thing -- but don't take it out on people who are already dealing with health issues. The front desk seemed disorganized and uninterested in helping, Patients go to clinics to feel cared for and supported -- unfortunately, this clinic fails at both. We have been attempting to clear a payment issue with Clinica La Esperanza for nearly a year. In essence I have the documentation that we made a payment that they did not enter into my wife's personal account and they refuse to clear this discrepancy. My documentation even includes the validated check of this payment. They also failed on refilling prescriptions. Incompetence to an extreme level. read more

First of all I see physicians' assistant Jose Flores and I can't sing his praises highly enough. He takes the time to listen and explains things clearly. On the other hand, trying to get through to a person in the office is frustrating. Today I called and was put on hold. I held for 10 minutes and then hung up thinking they might have forgotten me. I was placed on hold again, this time for 8 minutes. When I finally got to talk to someone in the office I was told they were full but I could come in and wait "in case we have a cancellation." Seriously? I was sick with a UTI and waiting all day in a dr office wasn't an option. I ended up at an urgent care. For heaven's sake, hire more people! read more

Legit have never hated a person so much before. Saw a new nurse practitioner today as a potential new PCP. First of all, requested a MD instead of a NP because of my level of meds and knowing that they would have an issue. Second, she called me a drug seeker just because of the meds they have me on for having a tumor in my spine AND a torn spine. Keep in mind I never asked for her any pain meds. She did, however, diagnose me with double ear infections and then refused to give me antibiotics because she "didn't know me well enough." Um... I paid my copay and produced my medical records. How well do we need to know each other before you do your job and treat me? I had to walk out crying without antibiotics because apparently you have to date your NP these days before they will treat ear infections. Yep, awesome job, lady! I've been going here for 3 years, I've had 3 different NPs but all were great. I have no complaints other than some communication issues in the past but they've corrected the issue and nothing further. Currently I'm seeing Melanie Duran, she's wonderful, takes her time with me and my husband, we are seniors and have a basket full of medical stuff going on but she's always been patient and takes care of everything we need. Cannot get prescriptions to pharmacy even on multiple times saying they have done so. Do not answer the phone. Do not return calls consistently. Zero communication regarding lab results. One tech abandoned me in the hallway after I checked in and no one knew where she disappeared to or why I was there!!! I have been trying for 10 days to get a prescription renewed that needed authorization from my Dr. at Clinica La Esperanza. Smiths Pharmacy has repeatedly requested authorization to no avail. I have called Clinica La Esperanza numerous times and been assured each time they would take care of it. I finally got ahold of my Doctor 2 days ago who said he personally would authorize the renewal. I have again over and over contacted Clinica La Esperanza in conjunction with the Pharmacy and we always get the reassurance it will be taken care of but then nothing is done. This morning I was asked for all my info. once again and again reassured the prescription would be called in. It has not been. Day 10 no medicine renewal. DO NOT GO HERE! I was a patient for over 4 years with great success until my PCP left the clinic and I was left with a egocentric, entitled, and rude Nurse, Jennifer Pantoja. Jennifer Pantoja did not ask for my medical history, general health, or reason for visit. She simple stated that I could not continue with my course of treatment that I had developed with my previous PCP. The actions of Jennifer Pantoja left me with life threatening position. If you are feeling bad, physically or mentally, and you want to feel even worse, then Clinica La Esperanza is the place to do it. Thank goodness this clinic is around. I am a very busy healthcare professional and hours can be sporadic. This clinic takes walk ins and I only had to wait 10 minutes to see a doctor! I'm very indifferent, I felt hurried and the NP didn't really listen nor offered to refill my prescription, I had to ask her pretty much to put the order in. She was just going to hand me off to a Specialist, which I understand but I do need a temporary prescription until a specialist can see me. Especially with my chronic illness. I've been going here a few years and I've been very satisfied. The staff is professional and knowledgeable and my NP Mr Florez is a very good one, as are the rest I believe. These people aren't doing it to get rich, so once in awhile they get a little swamped, probably low income customers, people on Medicaid, people who need more medical attention or haven't been getting any. The longest I've waited was 30 minutes or so but I'm usually called in at my appointment time or within five minutes of it. read more

THIS is also proof that the Office Fully Intended to Frustrate me into leaving. Set up with this Internist was through the Office of Congresswoman Michelle Lujan Grisham since it was not possible through HCSC/BCBSNM. Therefore I have NO choice but to live without the necessary Internist for PCP. Same RESULT! 2) ADMISSION BY OFFICE MANAGER - "I do apologize that we did not handle this in a timely manner but I do believe there were circumstances beyond our control." THERE WAS NOTHING OUT OF THEIR CONTROL. WHAT THEY ADMIT TOO HERE IS THAT THEY HAVE SO OVERLOADED THEMSELVES WITH MEDICAID PATIENTS THAT THEY HAVE LOST CONTROL OF BEING ABLE TO GIVE PROPER MEDICAL HELP TO MEDICAID PATIENT(S)! THAT CAN ONLY BE INTENTIONAL TO THE DETRIMENT OF MEDICAID PATIENTS! B) ADMISSION BY OFFICE MANAGER - " I know I called your number and it answered as if it was a fax? I apologize for the inconvenience." NO! I apologize that I have NO phone line of my own since loosing my job at BCBSNM May 2014 due to these illnesses AND that the Land Line Belongs to the ONLY working member of the House Hold! I regret that I have but ONE land line to use for both calls and faxes! I apologize that as I am faxing my complaint to the Income Support Division the Office Manager Chooses to call at that moment and Interrupts that fax THEN takes it so badly!!!!! Dr. Duarte's staff is astonishingly terrible at their jobs and so unprofessional and clearly unable to be on the same page with each other. 2 weeks ago my Mom became a new patient and Dr. Duarte ordered a urine analysis, chest x-ray, lab work via blood, and an EKG. Debbie left my Mom a VM saying her follow-up appointment was at 1pm but to arrive there at 12:45pm. My Mom arrived at 12:45 but the whole office was "closed for lunch". When they opened the doors at 1 my Mom asked why they told her to be there early if no one was even there and they denied ever saying that. My Mom was going to play the VM back but she was called back to see the doctor. Apparently they had lost ALL of her lab work except for her blood work done two weeks ago. ALL OF IT. The chest x-ray was portable and they should have had at least had that but the doctor's excuse was that the "girls are new and he's still teaching them" - note: we were told by Presbyterian Kaseman's Patient Navigator Sheila that the place was new, had been running for 2 years and has not ever had a complaint. She lied, this place has been open only for 4 months. My Mom was furious. The doctor kept telling my Mom that TriCore had lost her labs and that TriCore told them that the urine analysis was unable to test... Tell me in what world does TriCore do EKGs or x-rays? Also why didn't they communicate this to my Mom when they found that out? The doctor kept trying to get her to retake the tests and go off topic to talk about weight loss??? Eventually they FOUND the EKG report and the blood report. My Mom was still angry and asked for all her medical records and the nurse said they couldn't give her all of it. My Mom works in the medical field so she knows she's was full of it. She demanded that all her medical records be released to her and that she would be back for it since she had been there for an hour and a half already. Needless to say she won't ever go back and is calling her health insurance to make sure she doesn't have to pay for the labs that were lost. Don't go here, they are all CLEARLY incompetent. Don't trust Sheilia from Kaseman as she straight up lied to our faces. read more
