Cline Construction performed repair work on a house we were preparing to purchase. The repairs done were of poor quality. Rotted wood was supposed to be replaced, they only replaced part of the jam and didn't go up far enough, also didn't have matching paint. They also were to seal the chimney from leaks. I spoke with the owner of Cline Construction about these concerns and also chimney concerns before we moved in and he assured me that after I moved in, if I had any concerns that I could call and he would take care of them. After moving in I called the owners cell phone and left messages 3 times before I received a return call. Upon voicing my concerns about my leaking chimney his comment to me was "you don't know how chimneys are made do you". After our conversation I said I would get back to him. I then went online and saw how chimneys are made. After another call and after asking him if he even wanted to deal with this issue we finally set up an appointment for him to come look at my concerns. After his arrival and voicing my concerns he said he would come back the next day to caulk a board on an outside wall (not part of original work, I thought he was being a nice guy) and to recheck the chimney problem. I believed he left on a good note. However, the next day he was a no show and upon my call he said he'd call and tell me when they were coming. Unfortunately after a couple of more messages left, here we are 2 weeks later, no show no call. Bottom line if you don't want to do the work, say so. More importantly the following is from his website, "President of the Warren County Builders Association", "Also, I am presently serving on the Career & Technical Education Advisory Committee for the Blue Ridge Technical Center." I have no idea what kind of contractor he is I'm just relating my experience and giving my opinion. read more
