Based on my experience, I would not recommend this location. Their approach to customer service and retention feels dismissive and unprofessional. Rates seem to increase arbitrarily, and there is no willingness to work with customers, even when the facility is not at full occupancy. It's frustrating to see a business risk losing a long‑term customer over a small amount, especially when maintaining relationships should be a priority. The staff has consistently come across as rude and unhelpful. While the building is climate‑controlled, it's far from high‑end. The carts are broken, the units are dark with no lighting, and overall, the facility lacks attention to customer experience. In short, the service and management have made this a disappointing place to store my belongings. After making a complaint to the district manager, it is evident that the rates are more important that customers and I will be removing my items asap. Seems like such a small thing to lose a customer over but in the end, it is all about perception and mine is that we are not valued.

I had originally been interested in Stratford Self Storage since it is so close to my house, but when I went in April they were completely booked up. Word of warning if you need a storage unit look in early spring or late fall so that the Wake students don't have a chance to snag every one of them! They have a decent sized loading area out front. The only down side it is sloped on both sides, if you don't park exactly in the middle you have to worry about your cart rolling away. They have about six cart options inside so you can easily find something that works to carry all your belongings in. The manager and front dest staff are friendly and are happy to help. They do lock checks every Monday so if you forget to lock your unit they have you covered. They are located behind the Total Wine and More and IFC Chefsmart.

She answered all my questions and presented me with several different options to fit my needs. She also spent extra time with me on the "move in" day and helped me move my stuff from one unit to another. The location is slightly hidden behind Carrabba's and Total Wine. There is a deep slope leading to the entrance. When I asked why such a slope, she told me it was to ensure there was no flooding. She explained it well, I just don't understand landscaping. The hallways are always clean, no funny odors, and I feel safe keeping my stuff there long term with the climate controlled units.
